This study investigates the characteristics and factors affecting technology transfer in agricultural sector. Most extant research focus on the technological capabilitties, marketing and organizational factors in the process of creating technoloical knowledge and transfer. We examine the effects of patent quality on the technology transfer. A logistic regression analysis was conducted using total 4,151 patents registered from 2001 to 2016 by Rural Development Administration, Korea Food Research Institute. Empirical results show that joint filing and number of inventors have a positive (+) effect on technology transfer, while R&D support exhibit a negative (-) effect. The number of citations and the number of families show a positive (+) effect while other indicators (IPC number, number of claims) are not statistically significant.

본 연구는 농업 분야의 기술 이전에 영향을 미치는 특성과 요인을 규명한다. 대부분의 기존 기술이전 연구는 기술 지식 창출 및 이전 과정 에서 기술역량, 마케팅과 조직적 요인에 초점을 맞추고 있다. 본 연구는 특허 품질이 기술 이전에 미치는 영향을 분석한다. 농촌진흥청과 한국 식품연구원이 2001년부터 2016년까지 특허청에 등록한 총 4,151건의 특 허를 이용하여 로지스틱 회귀 분석을 수행하였다. 실증 분석 결과에 따르면 발명자 수와 공동출원은 기술이전에 긍정 적 (+) 효과가 있는 반면 R&D 지원은 부정적 (-) 효과를 나타내었다. 인용 횟수와 패밀리 규모는 긍정적 (+) 효과를 나타내지만 다른 특허 품질 지표(IPC 수, 청구항 수)는 통계적으로 유의하지 않은 것으로 나타 났다.
