For the past 34 years, the education of the Jeollabuk-do Gugak Center has aimed at enhancing the internalization and expansion of education through consumer-oriented systems and curriculum management. From October 15th, 1986 to October 10th, 2020, 80,223 trainees were trained with regular day and night classes for the general public. The development of Gukak education over the past 34 years can be divided into four periods. This nine-year period from October 1986 to September 1995 is considered to be the initial state of the development. This period laid the overall foundation for the operation of education such as curriculum development, appointment of professors, setting tuition fees, and presentations. This seven years and three months period from October 1995 to December 2002 is considered to be a time of trial. During this period, a full-scale inspection was conducted on the education of the past decade. There were difficulties due to the promotion of private consignment. This 12-year period from January 2003 to December 2014 is considered to be a period of exploration. This period was led by a diversification of education subjects. In 2008, the Gukak experience day was operated for kindergarteners and elementary school students. From 2010, operations expanded with training sessions reaching out to underprivileged areas. Since 2014, youth weekend classes have been set up for middle and high school students. This five years and nine month period from January 2015 to October 2020 is considered to be a period of stability. The Academic Research team supported the educational administration tasks since 2015. With the opening of the Traditional Culture Experience Center in 2020, hands-on education opportunities have been expanded. Future education tasks include improving education space through constructing a main building and developing new education contents such as online video lectures. Furthermore, the research and development of education methodologies and publishing a Gukak education casebook are planned. Following the opening of the Traditional Culture Experience Center, the center seeks to strengthen hands-on education services.

전라북도립국악원 교육은 지난 34년 동안 수요자 중심의 제도와 교과운영을 통해 교육의 내실화와 저변 확대를 꾀하여 왔다. 1986년 10월 15일부터 2020년 10월 15일까지 34년 동안 일반인 대상의 주야간 상설 교육은 80,223명의 연수생들이 교육을 받았다. 지난 34년 동안의 국악원 교육의 전개양상은 네 시기 별로 나누어 볼 수 있다. 1986년 10월부터 1995년 9월까지 약 9년간의 시기는 초창기라 할 수 있다. 이 시기는 교육과정, 교수 선임, 수강료, 학습발표회 등 교육운영의 전반적인 기틀이 마련되었다. 1995년 10월부터 2002년 12월까지 약 7년 3개월의 시기는 시련기라 할 수 있다. 이 시기는 교육개혁추 진단을 결성하여 지난 10여년 교육의 전면적인 점검과 함께 본격적인 야간반 교육이 이루어졌고, 국악원 민간위탁운영 추진으로 시련이 있었다. 2003년 1월부터 2014년 12월까지 12년의 시기는 모색기라 볼 수 있다. 이 시기는 2008년부터 유치원생 과 초등학생을 대상으로 국악체험학습 운영, 2010년부터 국악 소외지역을 대상으로 시군 찾아가는 국악연수 운영, 2014년부터 중고등학생을 대상으로 청소년 주말반 운영 등 교육대상의 다변화 등 다양한 모색이 이루어졌다. 2015년 1월부터 2020년 10월까지 약 5년 9개월의 시기는 안정기라 볼 수 있다. 이 시기는 2015년부터 학예연구팀의 교육행정업무 지원, 2020년 전통문화체험전수관 건립으로 체험활동 기회를 확대할 수 있게 되었다. 교육 현안은 본관 건물 신축을 통한 교육 공간 개선 및 신규 과목 개설, 전통문화체험전수관 건립에 따른 체험활동의 기회 확대, 온라인 동영상 강의 개설 등 새로운 교육콘텐츠 개발, 교재 발간과 국악교육사 례집 발간 등 교육방법론 연구를 들 수 있다.
