Due to an increase in online lectures that are now being offered as of late, universities are trying to raise the quality of distance learning. This study analyses discourses and materials from online presentation data, which was performed by undergraduate international students. It aims to explore the academic presentation in online learning circumstances and to suggest further educational content that the students need. For this purpose, this study collected the academic presentation data from 43 international undergraduate students who took part in a common liberal arts lecture. It examined their presentation structures, their language usage, and the visual and other non-verbal elements. In their presentation data, the researchers did not find any remarkable differences in the presentation structure. However, the students did have difficulty organizing their structures. Also, there were some errors in their discourse and their use of certain literary expressions which they used in the presentations, which are characteristic of online, non-face-to-face situations. Moreover, some errors occurred when they summarized or tried to visualize the contents of their presentations. On a non-verbal level, most students read the script without looking into the camera. On the other hand, we can see that the students used computer-based technical strategies instead of non-verbal elements.

최근 온라인 비대면 수업이 확대됨에 따라 대학에서도 원격 수업의 질 제고에 관심을 기울이고 있다. 본 연구는 온라인 비대면 교양 수업을 수강하고 있는 외국인 학부생들의 발표 동영상에 나타난 발표 담화와 발표 자료를 분석함으로써, 온라인 학습 상황에서의 학문적 발표 양상을 확인하고 향후 이들에게 필요한 교육 방안을 마련하는 데에 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 외국인 학부생 43명이 공통교양 수업 시간에 수행한 학문적 발표를 수집하여 발표 구조, 언어적 요소, 시각적 요소, 비언어적 요소를 중심으로 분석하였다. 먼저 구조적인 측면에서는 온라인 비대면 발표만의 차별점이 드러나지는 않았으나 학습자들은 발표를 조직하는 과정에서 각 단계를 연결하는 데에 어려움을 겪는다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 언어적으로는 발표에 사용되는 담화 표지나 학문적 표현에 대한 오류가 빈번하게 나타났으며, 온라인 비대면 환경을 고려한 특징적 언어 표현들도 발견되었다. 시각적인 측면에서는 발표 자료를 구성할 때 발표 내용을 요약하여 시각화하는 데에 어려움을 겪는 사례를 발견할 수 있었고, 비언어적인 측면에서는 카메라를 응시하지 않고 발표문을 그대로 읽는 현상이 두드러졌다. 비언어적 요소 대신 기술적 요소를 적극적으로 활용하는 전략을 활용하는 사례도 찾아볼 수 있었다.
