The aftermath of COVID-19 has had a profound impact on education around the world. In South Korea, the creation of an edu-tech environment was made during the semester following the sudden attempt to open online schools, which could not be an exception in art education where non-face-to-face education was difficult to show more than face-to-face education. This article was intended to focus on the education of Gugak national middle and high schools, especially among art education, to explore the direction of Korean traditional music education after COVID-19. With the start of the COVID-19, non-face-to-face classes at Gugak national middle and high schools were operated in three ways: two-way one-on-one non-face-to-face classes, two-way one-to-many non-face-to-face classes, and one-way one-to-many non-face-to-face classes. Since then, face-to-face classes have been resumed in order to start school, and blended learning has been conducted. The methods have been divided into three types: progress through face-to-face classes and self-directed practice through non-face-to-face classes, continuous progress through face-to-face and non-face-to-face classes, and flip-learning methods. This provides a direction that can be applied to Korean traditional music education at other arts middle and high schools, as well as ordinary middle and high schools, where practical training is virtually not conducted due to concerns over the spread of infectious diseases. Now, we have no choice but to accept changes in the educational field naturally, and we need to continue to discuss the creation of an edu-tech environment for music education, including Korean traditional music. By the end of the second semester of the COVID-19 New Normal, we expect to discuss the future direction of Korean traditional music education with more diverse educational experiences.

코로나19의 여파는 세계 각국의 교육에 지대한 영향을 주었다. 우리나라에서는 온라인 개학의 갑작스러운 시도 이후 한 학기 동안 에듀테크 환경 조성이 이루어졌는데, 이러한 상황은 비대면교 육이 대면교육 이상의 효과를 나타내기 어려운 예술교육에서도 예외가 될 수 없었다. 이 글은 예술교육 중 특히 국립국악중․고등학교의 교육에 집중하여 코로나19 이후 국악교육의 방향성을 모색하고자 하였다. 코로나19가 시작되면서 국악중․고의 비대면수업은 수업의 성격에 따라 교사에게 자율성을 부여하여, 쌍방향 1대 1의 비대면수업, 쌍방향 1대 다수의 비대면수업, 단방향 1대 다수의 비대면 수업이라는 세 가지 방식으로 운영되었다. 이후 순차적인 등교개학으로 대면수업이 재개되며 블 렌디드 러닝이 시행되었는데, 그 방식은 대면수업을 통한 진도 나가기와 비대면수업을 통한 자기 주도적 연습하기 결합, 대면수업과 비대면수업을 연계한 지속적인 진도 나가기, 플립러닝 방식의 세 가지로 구분되었다. 이는 다른 예술계 중⋅고등학교의 국악교육뿐만 아니라 감염병 확산을 우려하여 실기교육이 사실상 이루어지지 않고 있는 일반 중⋅고등학교의 국악교육에 적용 가능한 방향을 제공해준다. 우리는 이제 교육현장의 변화를 자연스럽게 받아들이는 수밖에 없으며, 국악을 비롯한 음악교 육의 에듀테크 환경 조성과 관련된 지속적인 논의가 필요하다. 코로나 뉴노멀의 두 번째 학기를 마칠 시점에는 더욱 다양한 교육적 경험을 통해 국악교육에 관한 앞으로의 방향성에 대해 풍성히 논할 수 있을 것이라 기대한다.
