This research is aimed at analysis on change in business purpose listed in the corporate registers of electronic security companies, including S1, ADT CAPS, and KT Telecop, from the early days to October 2020. Specific findings through qualitative research centered on literature research are as follows. In the case of S1, 12 business purpose as of June 1, 1994, 26 business purpose as of July 1, 2010, and 30 business purpose as of October 1, 2020. ADT CAPS has increased to 10 business purpose as of June 24, 1993, 15 business purpose as of July 1, 2010, and 34 business purpose as of October 1, 2020. In the case of KT Telecop, 9 business purpose as of October 22, 2009, 10 business purpose as of July 1, 2010, and 13 business as of October 1, 2020, purpose have increased. This shows that electronic security companies are actively responding to the need for various manufacturing and service provision, focusing on security-related tasks, in addition to the security services, such as facility security, escort security, protection security, special security, and electronic security, as specified under the Security Business Act, in line with the continuous change and development of the primary, secondary, and tertiary industries. Furthermore, it also means that various business purposes are being developed to provide convergence security services such as physical security and information security.

본 연구는 에스원(S1), ADT캡스(ADT CAPS), KT텔레캅(KT Telecop) 등 3개 기계경비 업체의 법인등기부에 기재된 초창기 기준 사업목적, 2010년 7월 1일 기준 사업목적, 2020년 10월 1일 기준 사업목적 변화 분석을 하는데 그 목적이 있다. 문헌연구 중심의 질적연구를 통한 구체적인 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 에스원(S1)의 경우는 1994년 6월 1일 기준 12개 사업목적, 2010년 7월 1일 기준 26개 사업목적, 2020년 10월 1일 기준 30개 사업목적 등으로 증가하였다. ADT캡스(ADT CAPS) 의 경우는 1993년 6월 24일 기준 10개 사업목적, 2010년 7월 1일 기준 15개 사업목적, 2020 년 10월 1일 기준 34개 사업목적 등으로 증가하였다. KT텔레캅(KT Telecop)의 경우는 2009년 10월 22일 기준 9개 사업목적, 2010년 7월 1일 기준 10개 사업목적, 2020년 10월 1일 기준 13개 사업목적 등으로 증가하였다. 이는 기계경비업체가 1차, 2차, 3차 산업의 지속적인 변화와 발전에 따라 경비업법 상에 명시된 시설경비, 호송경비, 신변보호, 특수경비, 기계경비 등 경비업에 부가하여 시큐리티 관련업무를 중심으로 다양한 제조 및 서비스 제공의 필요성에 따라 적극적으로 대응하고 있는 것을 알 수 있다. 나아가 물리보안, 정보보안 등 융합보안 서비스 제공을 위하여 다양 한 사업목적을 개발하고 있다는 것도 의미한다.
