The purpose of this research study was to examine the impact of loneliness, stigma and family cohesion on the quality of life among mothers of disability. A participants of 239 mothers of children with physical disability, intellectual disability, autism disorder were recruited from Young In city and other cities in Gyeonggi-do and finished the questionnaires of loneliness, stigma, family cohesion and quality life. Data were entered into multiple regression analyses. The finding of this research study indicates that loneliness and family cohesion were important predictors for the quality of life. Thus, decreased loneliness and increased family cohesion were associated with a high level of the quality of life. The level of disability also was an important predictor for the quality of life. To enhance mothers' quality of life, this research study findings will discuss in terms of implications for social work practices.

본 연구의 목적은 장애아동을 둔 어머니들의 외로움, 낙인감, 가족결속력이 삶의 질에 어떤 영향을 주는 지를 검증하고자 하였다. 용인시 및 경기도에 거주하는 239명의 신체장애, 지적장애 및 자폐장애 아동을 둔 어머니가 연구에 참여하였다. 본 연구는 연구 참여자들을 위해 외로움, 낙인감, 가족결속력과 삶의 질의 측정도구를 사용하 였고 다중회귀기법의 통계분석을 사용하였다. 연구결과, 외로움과 가족 결속력은 장애아동 어머니들의 삶의 질에 영향을 주는 주요 요인임을 확인 할 수 있었다. 즉 장애아동을 둔 어머니들의 가족결속력이 높을수록 혹은 외로움 수준이 낮을수록 삶의 질 수준이 높아지는 것으로 확인되었다. 또한 장애아동의 장애 정도는 장애아동 어머니들 의 삶의 질에 영향을 주는 주요 변수임이 확인 되었다. 끝으로 본 연구 결과의 토대로 장애아동 어머니들의 삶의 질 향상을 위한 사회복지 실천적 함의를 토론 하고자 한다.
