The analysis of this study is conducted by focusing on the paragraph errors shown in the academic reports of the students of the department of physical education at Sangmyung University. In addition, it presents an education plan to teach the issues shown by the analysis of the error types. A paragraph is defined by unity, coherence, and emphasis features. However, more often than not, the student reports were full of disunity paragraphs. Especially, such errors could easily be found in the introduction and conclusion paragraphs. The coherence errors were shown between the paragraphs as well in the sentences of one paragraph. In fact, they were shown in the introduction, body, and conclusion whilst unemphatic paragraphs were often shown in the body. Other than unity, coherence, and emphasis errors, the student reports were littered with errors in a spoken style, and the improper contents in the introduction or conclusion, etc. This study suggests the ways to solve the problems found in such paragraphs of the students’ academic reports of the department of physical education as follows. First, if students write unity and coherence paragraphs, it is recommended to highlight how to write supporting topics after organizing a sub-theme. Second, if they want to organize coherency paragraphs, it is recommended to explain how to use various coherency expressions, directive expressions, etc.

본고는 상명대학교 체육학과 학생들의 학술적 보고서에 나타나는 문단 의 유형을 오류에 초점을 두어 분석하였다. 문단(paragraph)은 ‘하나의 중심 생각을 표현하기 위해 여러 문장을 모아 놓은 단위’로서, 통일성, 연결성, 완결성을 지녀야 한다. 그런데 체육학과 학생들의 보고서에서는 통일성이 결여된 문단이 빈도 높게 나타났다. 특히, 서론과 결론에서 이러한 오류 문단의 빈도가 높았다. 연결성의 오류는 문단 내의 문장들 사이에서도 나 타나고, 문단과 문단 사이에서 나타났다. 이러한 오류 유형은 서론, 본론, 결론에서 모두 보인다. 완결성이 결여된 문단은 본론에서 자주 나타난다. 통일성, 연결성, 완결성 외에도, 구어체를 사용하는 표현의 문제, 서론이나 결론에 맞지 않은 내용 구성 등의 오류가 보였다. 본고는 체육학과 학생 들의 학술적 보고서에서 나타나는 이러한 문단의 문제점을 해결하기 위 해 결론에서 몇 가지 제언을 덧붙였다. 첫째, 통일성과 완결성을 갖추기 위해, 소주제문을 먼저 작성한 후 뒷받침문장을 쓰도록 지도하는 방법, 둘 째, 연결성을 위해, 다양한 연결 표현, 지시 표현 등을 사용하여 문장을 완 성하도록 지도하는 방법 등을 제안한다. 본고에서 분석한, 체육학과 학생 들의 보고서 문단 오류 유형은 체육학과 학생들의 글쓰기 지도 교육 방안 에 기초 자료로 활용할 수 있을 것이다.
