The purpose of this study is to summarize and evaluate South Korean studies on the Korean linguistics of North Korea. First, the research conducted so far in South Korea were analyzed quantitatively by dividing them into periods and fields. This paper analysed that the haegeum (removal of a ban on North Korean materials) in 1988 and the 2000 North-South Joint Declaration had an effect on South Korea's research motive power on the Korean linguistics of North Korea. Accordingly, the trends were analyzed by dividing into three periods. It was also revealed that South Korean research lacks interest in semantics, style, contrastive linguistics, computational linguistics, and other fields of the Korean linguistics of North Korea. Second, taking some studies of grammar theory as examples, the qualitative evaluation of South Korea's view on the Korean linguistics of North Korea was conducted. As a result, it was confirmed that the South Korean studies criticized the Korean linguistics of North Korea as not theoretical, without reference to the practicality and ethnicity of the language that North Korea values. Therefore, this paper argues that it is necessary first to evaluate whether the Korean linguistics of North Korea was described consistently according to the practicality and ethnicity of the language.

본 연구는 북한 조선어학에 대한 남한의 연구를 정리하고 평가하는 것 을 목적으로 한다. 먼저, 지금까지 이루어진 남한의 연구들을 시기와 분야 로 나누어 양적으로 분석하였다. 본고는 1988년 해금(解禁)과 2000년 6.15 남북공동선언이 북한 조선어학에 대한 남한의 연구 동력에 영향을 미쳤 다고 보고 이에 따라 3개 시기로 나누어 그 동향을 분석하였다. 또한 남한 의 연구에서는 북한 조선어학의 의미론, 문체론, 언어일반, 언어공학, 기타 부문에 대한 관심이 상대적으로 부족했다는 점을 밝혔다. 다음으로, 북한 조선어학에 대한 남한의 관점을 문법론 연구를 사례로 들어 질적으로 평 가하였다. 분석 결과, 남한의 연구들에서 북한이 중시하는 언어의 실제성 과 민족성에 대한 참조 없이 조선어학을 이론적이지 않다고 비평해 온 사 실을 확인하였다. 이를 통해 남한의 관점으로만 북한의 조선어학을 평가 할 것이 아니라, 그들의 기술이 언어의 실제성과 민족성에 따라 정합적으 로 이루어졌는지 분석하는 작업이 필요함을 주장하였다.
