The Direction and the Necessity of the Study on the Literature of Choseonjok in China Choi, Byeong-woo Literature of Choseonjok in China has been studied only by Choseonjok researchers in China and some Korean researchers. Recently, with increasing necessity for research on overseas Korean literature, 'the International Association for Literature of Korean Residents Abroad' has been organized as an effort to study overseas Korean literature. Of overseas Korean literature, the literature of Choseonjok in China is what Korean literature majors must approach in the first place. While research on South‐North Korean literature leads to the understanding of Korean people’s literature created within the Korean Peninsula, research on the literature of Choseonjok in China will bring us deeper and broader insight to Korean literature. Thus, the present study makes a number of suggestions for future research on the literature of Choseonjok in China. First, the first task to be done is sorting out materials related to the literature of Choseonjok in China. Second, we need to review the literature of Choseonjok in China in connection to the contemporary history of China. Third, there should be studies on the patterns of changes in Choseonjok literature since the reform and opening of China. Fourth, the effects of the diplomatic normalization between Korea and China on the literature of Choseonjok in China should be examined. Fifth, aesthetic researches on the literature of Choseonjok in China should be accumulated gradually. Sixth, comparative research is necessary between South and North Korean literature and furthermore between Korean literature in the Korean Peninsula and overseas Korean literature.

중국조선족 문학은 중국조선족 연구자들과 일부 한국 연구자들에 의해 연구되고 있을 뿐이다. 최근 재외한인 문학에 대한 연구의 필요성을 공감하여 국제한인문학회가 결성되어 전 세계 한민족의 문학을 연구하려는 움직임이 일고 있다. 해외한인 문학 중에서 한국문학 전공자가 우선적으로 다가서야 할 대상이 중국조선족 문학이다. 남북한 문학에 대한 연구를 통해 한반도 내에서 이루어지는 한민족의 문학을 정리하고 이와 함께 중국조선족 문학을 연구함으로써 한국문학 연구의 폭과 깊이를 더해갈 수 있을 것이다. 이를 위해 중국조선족 문학에 대한 연구가 나아갈 방향 몇 가지를 제시한다.첫째, 가장 먼저 추진되어야 할 일은 중국조선족 문학에 대한 자료 정리이다.둘째, 중국의 현대사와 관련하여 중국조선족 문학에 대한 새로운 읽기가 필요하다.셋째, 개혁개방 이후 조선족문학의 변화 양상에 대한 연구이다.넷째, 한중 수교가 중국조선족 문학에 미친 영향을 살피는 작업이다.다섯째, 점진적으로 중국조선족 문학에 대한 미학적 연구가 축적되어야 한다.여섯째, 남북한 문학 나아가 재외한인 문학과의 비교 연구가 필요하다.
