The purpose of this study was to explore the characteristics of eye movement in the process of reading Practical Arts textbooks of elementary school pre-service teachers. The study participants were 5 1st and 2nd graders at G National University of Education, and 4 tasks were selected for eye tracking. Data collection for this study was conducted in two ways. First is measurement using an eye tracker, and Second is the collection of qualitative data through interviews and observation. Research participants participated in measurement using an eye tracker in a classroom equipped with a measuring machine, and interviews were conducted after the measurement was completed. The eye measurement results were analyzed by the methods of Heatmap, Gaze, and Gaze Opacity. And qualitative data were transcribed and analyzed. The results of this study are as follows. First, elementary school pre-teachers made a selective eye movement when reading textbooks. Second, the elementary school pre-teachers moved their eyes toward goal. Third, while elementary school pre-service teachers read the textbook, they judged the contents of the textbook through a cognitive process, and their eye shifted through the cognitive action of the result. As for the above eye movement characteristics, it was found that when elementary school pre-service teachers read textbooks, some of the contents were viewed intensively, some were viewed less, and in some cases, there were places where the eye did not go away. In conclusion, it can be seen that elementary school pre-service teachers do not passively read and understand textbooks, but are active beings who proceed through the process of reflective thinking while reading. This is a result showing that when developing real textbooks, not only the will of the developer is reflected, but the characteristics of textbook users must be studied and applied in various ways.

이 연구의 목적은 초등예비교사가 실과 교과서를 읽는 과정에서 나타나는 시선 이동의 특성을 탐색하는데 있다. 연구 참여자는 G교육대학교 1, 2학년 5명이고, 시선 추적을 위한 과제는 4개이 다. 이 연구를 위한 자료 수집은 두 가지로 진행되었다. 첫째, 시선 추적기를 이용한 측정이고, 둘 째, 인터뷰와 관찰일지를 통한 질적 자료 수집이다. 연구 참여자는 측정 기계가 설치된 교실에서 시선 추적기를 이용한 측정에 참여하였고, 측정을 마친 후 인터뷰가 진행되었다. 시선 측정 결과는 Heatmap, Gaze, Gaze Opacity의 방법으로 분석되었다. 그리고 질적 자료는 전사되고 분석되었다. 이 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 초등예비교사들은 교과서를 읽을 때 선택적 시선 이동을 하였다. 둘째, 초등예비교사들은 목표지향적 시선 이동을 하였다. 셋째, 초등예비교사들은 교과서 를 읽으면서 인지적 과정을 통해 교과서 내용에 대해 판단을 하였고, 그 결과에 대한 인지 작용으 로 시선 이동이 이루어졌다. 위와 같은 시선 이동 특성은 초등예비교사들이 교과서를 읽을 때 내용 의 일부는 집중적으로 보기도 하고, 일부는 덜 보기도 하며, 어떤 경우에는 시선이 가지 않는 곳도 있는 것으로 나타났다. 결론적으로 초등예비교사들은 교과서를 수동적으로 읽고 이해하는 것이 아니고, 읽으면서 사고 와 성찰의 과정을 진행하는 능동적인 존재라는 것을 알 수 있다. 이것은 실과 교과서를 개발할 때 개발자의 뜻만을 반영하는 것이 아니라 교과서 사용자의 특성을 다각적으로 연구하여 적용해야 함 을 보여주는 결과이다.
