It is pointed out that payments for star actors and star writers have been excessively raised up over recent 10 years resulting in the excessive increase in drama production fees, and that the repeated appearances of same actors make dramas to be surfeits. This study analysed effects which star power of human resources such as PD, writers and actors involved in dramas had on viewer ratings. Through analysis on aired dramas from 1994 to August 2009, it gets a result that ‘there exists star power but effectiveness thereof has been lessened by repetitive participation.’ The implicature of this result is that utilizing human resources recognized as star power in the previous drama or during recent periods is advantageous to be guaranteed on high viewer ratings in production of new dramas. It is also important to discover and utilize various human resources that can provide with fresh and new images and ideas.

최근 10여 년간 스타 배우와 스타 작가의 출연료와 원고료가 과다하게 인상되어 드라마 제작비가 지나치게 상승하였고, 동일한 배우가 반복 출연 하여 드라마가 식상하다는 지적도 받아왔다. 이 연구에서는 드라마에 참여 하는 PD, 작가, 출연배우 등의 인적자원들이 가진 스타파워가 드라마의 시 청률에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 1994년부터 2009년 8월까지 방송된 드 라마를 분석하여, ‘드라마에서 스타 파워가 존재하지만 반복 참여에 따라 그 효과가 감소한다’는 결과를 얻었다. 이 결과의 함의는 신규드라마 제작에 있어서 높은 시청률을 보장받기 위해서는 전작 또는 가까운 시기에 스타파워를 인정받은 인적자원을 활용 하는 것이 유리함을 보여주고 있다. 그리고 드라마 제작에서 참신하고 새 로운 이미지와 아이디어를 제공할 수 있는 다양한 인적자원을 발굴하고 활용하는 것이 중요하다.
