- The purpose of this study is to compare and analyze the naval power of Korea and Japan and to draw implications. What happens if Korea and Japan collide? After the low-flying threat flight of the Japanese patrol plane in December 2018, military conflict between the two countries has escalated, raising interest in this. Some argue that Korea's military strength is strong based on the fact that the GFP(Global Fire Power), which analyzes the level of military power in countries around the world, ranked Korea 7th out of 136 countries in terms of potential war performance in 2018, and Japan 8th. Does this claim make sense? Considering the characteristics of Japan, which is an island nation, the comparison of naval capabilities between Korea and Japan should be made first. In this presentation summary, we first look at the concept and evaluation elements of force, and briefly explain the main part of the comparative analysis of marine power in Korea, focusing on the evaluation elements.
