How does Kant's transcendental philosophy understand the truth? In other words, what kind of truth theory is Kant's epistemology?We can say that traditional interpretation of Kant’s epistemology generally ignored the importance of “The Transcendental Dialectic" in the Critique of Pure Reason, because of the distinction between “The Transcendental Analytic" as the ‘logic of truth' and “The Transcendental Dialectic" as the 'logic of illusion'. However, "The Transcendental Dialectic" becomes the 'logic of illusion' only in the case that the ‘idea’ was misused. Inversely, when the ‘idea’ is used correctly, not only "The Transcendental Analytic" as the 'logic of truth' but also "The Transcendental Dialectic" deeply relates to Kant's theory of truth. To put it more concretely, Kant's transcendental idealism defines the coincidence between the forms of cognition and appearances through perception; furthermore, it reveals the relation between the form of cognition and the world-idea, which is supporting the truth from the bottom. On this account, the truth theory in "The Tanscendental Analytic" is only a part of Kant's theory of truth. "The Transcendental Analytic" does not become the ‘logic of truth’ directly, i.e. it is possible to grasp the key point of Kant's theory of truth, only if when we broaden our horizons to the world-idea on which his truth theory is based. * In this abstract, Kant’s terms are cited from The Cambridge Edition of the Works of Immanuel Kant.

칸트의 초월론적 관념론은 진리를 어떻게 이해하고 있는가? 즉 칸트의 인식론은 어떠한 진리론인가?칸트 인식론에 대한 종래의 일반적인 해석은 『순수이성비판』에서 「변증론」이 가지는 중요성을 간과하였다고 생각된다. 그 연유로서 생각할 수 있는 것은, “진리의 논리학”으로서의 「초월론적 분석론」과 “가상의 논리학”으로서의 「초월론적 변증론」이라는 칸트의 구별이다. 그러나 「변증론」은 어디까지나 이념이 잘못 사용될 경우에만 “가상의 논리학”이 된다는 것을 주의하지 않으면 안 된다. 역으로 말하면, 이념을 올바르게 사용하는 경우에는, 진리의 논리학으로서의 「분석론」뿐만 아니라 「변증론」도 칸트의 진리론에 깊게 관여하게 된다. 즉 칸트의 초월론적 관념론은, 지각을 통한 인식 형식과 현상의 합치로서의 진리뿐만 아니라, 더 나아가 그러한 진리를 근저에서 떠받치고 있는 인식 형식과 세계 이념의 “관련”까지도 밝히는 이론이다. 따라서 「분석론」에서의 진리론은 단지 칸트 진리론의 한 측면에 불과하다고 말할 수 있겠다. 「분석론」이 바로 진리의 논리학이 되는 것이 아니라, 그의 진리론이 암암리에 전제하고 있는 「변증론」에서의 세계 이념을 시야에 넣음으로써 비로소 칸트 진리론의 핵심적 사상을 파악하는 것이 가능하다고 생각된다.
