For Levinas, the relation of ‘I’and the other is a relation of singularity to singularity. This is the beginning of the possibility of the relationship that I am infinitely responsible for the other. But, I’m not in the world that I can only deal with one person. I meet many faces living in multiple society. The third party(parties), not the other, was already in the face of the other. The passage from the singularity to multiplicity. This brings the birth of the question. “Who is the first to be responsible?” The third party is also the one who requires me. By the fact that I am in front of the other and the third party, I must compare, weigh them. First of all, it is necessary to judge the priority responsibility. In other words, we need justice that involves the comparison what is in principle incomparable. This means that the justice of equality and of reciprocity produces the correction of ethical asymmetry. This also means that the justice produces the opening of the ethical space. In so far as we find ourselves in society, the passage from the ethical to the political was expected. Nevertheless, my responsibility is never degraded in justice and politics. There is an inspiration of politics by ethics. The politics will follow ethics beyond politics. The ethics should not never be diminished in politics. So, we have to look at politics as the reconstruction for inclusive, general extension of ethics.
