In 1206, Temuzhen unified Mongolia and established the Mongolian Empire. In the minds of the Mongolian steppes, Temujin is a well-known Genghis Khan. For the Jin Dynasty, Xixia, or Central Asian countries, Temujin was an invincible god of war, but for the Southern Song Dynasty, which was partial to the south of the Yangtze River, Temujin Just the "alien" in the wild. From 1206 to 1227, there are few records of Tiemuzhen in the historical materials written by the Song writers, but the records also show the consideration of the prairie hero by the Southern Song Dynasty. However, this kind of examination has, to some extent, affected the subsequent political trend of the Southern Song Dynasty and also determined the fate of the two regimes.

1206년 테무친(鐵木眞)이 몽골을 통일하고 몽골제국을 세웠다. 몽골 초원의 각 부족은 마음속으로 테무친은 대단한 위엄을 갖는 칭기즈칸으로 자리 잡고 있 었다. 金朝・西夏 그리고 중앙아시아의 여러 국가들에게 테무친은 절대로지지 않 는 전쟁의 神으로 자리 잡고 있었다. 그렇지만 중국 강남의 南宋에 한정하여 보 면 테무친은 蠻荒 지역의 “異人”일 뿐이었다. 1206년부터 테무친이 죽는 1227년 까지 宋人史와 筆記에 테무친의 관한 기록이 거의 보이질 않고 있으며 단편적인 기록에는 남송의 君臣이 草原의 英雄에 대한 신중하게 관찰하는 모습을 볼 수 있다. 이와 같은 모습은 은연중 남송 후기의 정치 성향에도 영향을 끼쳤을 뿐만 아니라 남송과 몽골의 운명에도 큰 영향을 끼쳤다.
