This is an annotated translation of the Tang zai chimen 湯在啻門, which is included in Volume Five of the Qinghua Daxue Cang Zhanguo Zhujian 淸華大學藏戰國竹簡. The Tang zai chimen, which is composed of twenty one slips, contains a dialogue between King Tang 湯王 and his minister Yi Yin 伊尹. In the dialogue, King Tang asks Yi Yin for didatic sayings of past sage kings about cheng ren 成人, cheng bang 成邦, cheng di 成地 and cheng tian 成天, and Yi Yin responds with a moral lesson. Unlike the other four narratives associated with Yi Yin (the Yinzhi 尹至, the Yingao 尹誥, the Chihu zhi ji tang zhi wu 赤鵠之集湯之屋, the Tang chu yu Tangqiu 湯處於湯丘) included in the Qinghua Bamboo Slips, the Tang zai chimen's does not resemble any contents from transmitted texts and it demonstrates mixed features of the various schools of thought of the Warring States Period. Especially, many of the Chinese scholars say that traces of Daoism, Legalism, the Yin-Yang School, Confucianism, and Mohism in the Tang zai Chimen correspond to the characteristics of the Huang-Lao Daoism 黃老思想, which combined various thoughts of the Warring States Period. However, this study argues that the characteristics of the Huang-Lao Daoism are yet to be evident in the Tang zai Chimen when compared to the Huangdi Sijing 黃帝四經 in the Mawangdui Silk Manuscripts 馬王堆帛書 and Guanzi 管子. Thus, rather than defining the Tang zai Chimen as a literature of early Huang-Lao Daoism, this article views it as a literature that only includes discussions related to some parts of Huang-Lao Daoism.

본고는 『淸華大學藏戰國竹簡󰡕(伍)에 수록된 『湯在啻門󰡕을 해제하고 역주한 것이다. 21매의 죽간으로 구성된 『湯在啻門󰡕은 湯王과 伊尹의 문답 형식으로 이루어진 문헌이다. 『湯在啻門󰡕의 내용은 탕왕이 이윤에게 成人, 成邦, 成地, 成天에 대한 先帝의 良言을 구하고 이에 대해서 이윤이 교훈적 내용으로써 답하는 것으로 요약할 수 있다. 이와 같은 『湯在啻門󰡕의 내용은 청화간에 수록된 네 편의 이윤 이야기(『尹至󰡕, 『尹誥󰡕, 『赤鵠之集湯之屋󰡕, 󰡔湯處於湯丘󰡕)와 달리 전래문헌에서 거의 언급되지 않고, 다양한 전국시대 제자사상의 특징도 확인된다. 특히, 중국학계에서는 󰡔湯在啻門󰡕에 보이는 도가, 법가, 음양가, 묵가의 흔적을 근거로 전국시대 황로사상의 특징과 부합한다고 하였다. 그러나 본고에서는 馬王堆帛書 󰡔黃帝四經󰡕, 󰡔管子󰡕 등에 비해서 황로학의 특징이 󰡔湯在啻門󰡕에서 뚜렷하게 나타나지 않는 점을 주목하였다. 이에 󰡔湯在啻門󰡕을 초기의 황로학 문헌이라고 규정하기 보다는 황로학 논의를 일부 수용한 문헌으로 보는 것에 대한 가능성을 상정하였다.
