Samyeongja Cha Jwa Il is a writer who was active in the mid-18th century. He is the sixth-generation descendant of Cha Cheon Ro, who is known as a famous writer of the late Joseon Dynasty. He had a will to serve in the literary – subject government, but it didn't work out the way he want it to. So in his later years, remaining a military official was all he could do. Cha Jwa Il was out of office in 1804, mingled with a “wandering poet” named Song-Seok-Won poetry company. After experiencing the extinction of his family, hardships of life, he was out of the mainstream. So he always had pent-up anger at the base. So ironically, in his poem, showing the same tendency as a “wandering poet” For example, critical sentiment and pent-up anger toward reality. His collection of poem called 󰡔Samyeongja-si-jip󰡕 is consist of one volume. It wasn't compiled until 100 years after his death. In his collection of poem, his poems are 278 title 356 poetic works. The rest of part is the preface, epilogue, religious writing and writing of history of the deceased for Cha Jwa Il. His later years were not smooth. But he was travel around various regions and created a poem. So in his travel poems, different emotions are expressed than non-travel poems. Among his travels, westward region travel is the most detailed and concrete. Based on current known data, the westward region travel is only long-term travel in his whole life. Get out of a harsh reality, he traveled and created westward-region travel poems and expressed emotions in two opposite ways. A sense of futility and leisurely sentiment. In this study, we will consider the aspect of two opposite expression in his westward-region travel poems. As a result, we can expand his poetic world view in his personal lifetime.

四名子 車佐一(1753-1809)은 18세기 중반에 활동했던 문인이다. 조선후기의 명문장가로 이름난 車天輅의 6대손이다. 관직 진출의 뜻이 있었으나 뜻대로 되지 않아 말년에 무관으로 지내는 것이 그의 벼슬 생활의 전부이다. 차좌일은 1804년 벼슬에서 물러나 여항 시인의 중심 집단 송석원시사의 문인들과 어울리면서 이곳저곳을 돌아다니며 시를 창작하였다. 가문의 멸족, 생활고와 같은 일을 겪는 등 주류의 삶을 살지 못하였다. 따라서 그는 항상 가슴속에 내재된 울분이 있었다. 따라서 모순적이게도 그의 시에서는 여항 시인들의 시와 같은, 즉, 현실에 대한 비판적 정서와 울분이 많이 담겨있다. 그의 문집 󰡔사명자시집󰡕은 1권 1책이고 사후 100년에서야 편찬되었다. 그의 문집 속에는 278제 356수의 시로만 구성되어있고 나머지는 그를 위해 지은 타인의 서문, 발문, 제문, 행장이 수록되어있다. 차좌일의 말년 역시 순탄치 못하였지만 그는 그래도 다양한 지역을 돌아다니며 시를 창작했다. 따라서 그의 유람시는 비유람시와는 다른 정서가 발현된다. 그의 유람들 중 가장 자세하고 구체적인 유람이 관서지역의 유람이다. 고달픈 현실을 벗어나고자 떠난 그는 관서지역 유람시에서 서로 상반된 양상으로 정서를 표출했다. 무상감과 여유로움이라는 이 상반된 정서가 관서지역 유람시에서 어떤 양상으로 발현되는지를 살펴봄으로써 그의 개인적인 삶 속에서 관서 유람시는 차좌일의 시세계를 좀 더 확장시킬 수 있을 것이다.
