With the recent Fourth Industrial Revolution and the Corona 19 Incident, parents are increasingly playing a role in the operation of school education as a member of the education community. Despite the growing demand for participation by parents in overall school management, it shows insufficient legal, institutional and teacher awareness. The study is mainly aimed at exploring the historical birth process and key features of French parent education. France has historically established itself as the subject, partner and companion of the educational community by reflecting the demand for parents' participation in school education in line with the trend of social change after the French Revolution. To achieve this research objective, we looked at the background of the birth of the concept of French parent education, the emergence of parent schools as parent education, the status and role of parents, the contents of parent education, parent education policies and implications. France has shown features such as promoting private-led parental education, legalism for parents' responsibility, revitalizing the collection of parents' opinions, diversifying channels for parents' participation, and managing the quality of parents' education programs.

최근 제4차 산업혁명, 코로나 19 사태 등을 맞이하면서 교육공동체 일원으로서 학부모가 학교교 육 운영의 참여 역할이 나날이 증대되고 있다. 학부모의 학교운영 전반에 대한 참여 요구가 증대함 에도 불구하고 법적, 제도적 장치, 교원의 인식 등에서 미흡함을 보여주고 있다. 이 연구는 프랑스 학부모교육의 역사적 탄생과정과 주요 특징을 탐색하는데 주된 목적이 있다. 프랑스는 역사적으로 프랑스 혁명 시기 이후 사회변화 흐름에 맞춰 학교교육에 학부모 참여의 요구를 반영하여 교육공동 체의 주체자와 협력자, 동반자로서 자리매김하였다. 이 연구목적을 달성하기 위해서는 프랑스 부모 교육 개념 탄생 배경, 학부모교육으로서 부모학교 등장, 학부모의 지위와 역할, 학부모교육의 내용, 학부모교육정책, 시사점 등을 살펴보았다. 프랑스는 민간주도의 학부모교육 추진, 학부모 책임 법정 주의, 학부모 의견수렴 활성화, 학부모 참여 창구 다양화, 학부모 교육프로그램 질 관리 등의 특징을 보였다.
