The purpose of this study is to analyze visual data of Nigerian junior secondary school technology textbooks in terms of appearance and content, and to provide basic data that can be used for the development of technology textbooks and international comparison of NKMS model schools. Based on the results of the study, the conclusions are as follows: First, it needs to be encouraged in an independent form to represent the content characteristics of the subject of technology rather than the form of the textbook of the rule merged into science, technology and physical education. Second, textbooks should effectively provide the contents of the technology by using a variety of pictures, cartoons, illustrations and diagrams, away from the simple form of visual materials focused on photography. Third, in order to express the contents of technology education in detail, partial enlargement data should be actively provided so that product principles can be easily understood. Fourth, the concept of gender equality for students should be allowed to form by presenting visual materials jointly presented by male and female in textbooks. Finally, the role of visual data should be extended to motivation, activity guidance, and presentation of activity results in addition to 'providing data'.

코이카의 지원으로 2018년에 나이지리아 수도 아부자에 개교한 NKMS의 기술교과의 교수-학 습자료 제작을 위하여 중학교 기술 교과서의 시각자료 분석이 필요하였다. 이 연구의 목적은 나이 지리아 중학교 기술교과서의 시각자료를 외형적 측면과 내용적 측면을 분석하여, NKMS 모델학 교의 기술 교과서 개발과 우리나라의 기술 교과서 국제 비교 분석에 활용할 수 있는 기초자료를 제공하는데 있다. 연구의 결과를 바탕으로 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 과학, 기술, 체육으로 병합 된 통권 교과서 형태보다는 기술교육의 내용 특성을 나타내기 위해서는 단독 형태가 장려될 필요 가 있으며, 영역별로 저자를 위촉하여 내용의 전문성과 다양성을 기해야 한다. 둘째, 사진 위주의 단순한 시각자료의 형태에서 탈피하여 그림, 만화, 도해, 도표를 다양하게 사용함으로써 기술의 내용을 효과적으로 제공해 주어야 한다. 또한 시각자료의 크기를 교육내용에 따라 다양화하여 학습자의 동기유발과 학습효과를 고양시킬 수 있도록 편집의 효과를 높여야 한다. 셋째, 기술교육의 내용을 디테일하게 표현하기 위하여 부분 확대 자료를 과감히 제공하여 제품의 원리를 쉽게 이해할 수 있도록 배려하여야 한다. 또한 시각자료를 사각형만으로 제시하지 말고, 원형 이나 배경 생략 기법을 활용함으로써 편집의 다양성을 꾀하여 교육내용과의 조화를 이루어야 한다. 넷째, 여섯째, 남성 중심의 시각자료 편집에서 벗어나 여성과 공동으로 출연하는 자료제시를 통하 여 양성평등의 개념을 형성하도록 해주어야 한다. 현재의 남성중심의 시각자료는 성 역할에 편견을 가질 수 있다. 마지막으로, 학습자를 고려한 교과서를 편찬하기 위해서는 시각자료의 역할을 ‘자료제공’과 더불어 동기유발, 활동안내, 활동결과 제시로까지 확대되어야 한다. 이와 더불어 시각자료의 기능을 필수적 기능에 더하여 보조적 기능과 장식적 기능을 활용하여 교과서의 질을 업그레이드해야 한다.
