This paper analyzes the meaning of the parting process in the Tale of Jinegaksi and examines the possibility of this being applied to our lives from a literary therapeutic perspective. The results of the analysis are as follows. First, in the folk tale, Jinegaksi was uneasy by transferring the problem of the breakup trauma experienced in the relationship with a snake to the relationship with a man, but she showed the result of overcoming the breakup trauma through a mature relationship with the man. Second, the story of Jinegaksi was significantly useful for “participant A,” who had a hard time after experiencing a real-life breakup. “Participant A” was able to understand themselves by substituting their problems with the character relationships in the work, and by discovering their differences with Jinegaksi they also sought alternatives to escape from the problem. The study found that the epic literary work of Jinegaksi has become able to predict how it can create a mutual impact process in the epic of self of people who have suffered from separation trauma.

본고는 설화 <지네각시>에 나타나는 이별과정의 의미를 분석하고 이 것이 우리 삶에 적용되는 가능성을 문학치료학적 관점에서 살펴보고자 한 것이다. 분석의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 설화 <지네각시> 중 지네각시는 구렁이와의 관계에서 겪은 이별 외상의 문제를 남자와의 관계에까지 전이시켜 불안한 모습을 보였지만, 남자 와의 성숙한 관계 맺기를 통해 이별 외상을 극복한 결과를 보여주었다. 둘째, <지네각시> 설화는 실제 이별 경험을 겪고 힘든 시간을 보냈던 참여자A에게 유의미하게 활용되었다. 참여자A는 감상문을 통해 자신의 문제를 작품 속 인물관계에 대입하여 자신을 이해할 수 있었고, 지네각시 와 자신의 차이점을 발견하면서 문제로부터 벗어날 수 있는 대안도 모색 하게 되었다. 이상의 연구 결과는 설화 <지네각시>의 작품서사가 이별 외상을 겪은 사람들의 자기서사에 어떻게 상호영향과정을 일으킬 수 있는지 전망할 수 있게 되었다는 데에서 그 의의를 찾을 수 있다.
