This study aimed to identify the meaning of tacit knowledge as a form of knowledge which can be lost easily in virtual world amid the increase of untact social interaction in evolution and increase of diverse digital communication. In particular, this study tried to examine the features of tacit knowledge, which is created during activity of passing down community spirit or culture. Through previous studies, this study looked into museum activities and candycraft activities by conducting field work and interview after paying attention to three features - non-expressivity, internality, and process of knowing - which are distinguished from scientific knowledge or standardized knowledge amid forms of knowledge called as existing tacit knowledge or local knowledge. As a result of the study, the features from activities related to creation and transmission of culture are the following. First, in many cases, tacit knowledge exists invisibly and inherently within learners with strong demand toward knowing. Second, tacit knowledge is formed based on experiencing relevant scenes. Third, tacit knowledge improves expansion or function of tacit knowledge itself through union with scientific knowledge.

본 논문은 다양한 디지털 커뮤니케이션의 진화와 증가 속에서 비대면적인 사회적 상호작용 이 증가하는 가운데 가상세계에서 상실하기 쉬운 지식의 유형으로서의 암묵지(tacit knowledge) 의 의의를 확인하는 것을 목표로 하였다. 특히 연구방법은 질적 사례연구를 통하여 공동체성이 나 문화를 전승하여 가는 박물관활동과 사탕공예 활동 속에서 생산되는 암묵지의 생성의 특징 은 무엇인지를 밝히고자 한다. 분석에서는 선행연구를 통하여 과학적 지식이나 표준화된 지식 등과 구별되어 사용되는 암묵지에서 제기된 세가지 특징(비표현성, 내재성, 앎의 과정)에 주목 하여 필드워크 및 7명의 참여자 인터뷰 자료를 토대로 하여 고찰하였다. 연구의 결과, 문화의 창조 및 전승에 관련된 활동에서 나타난 암묵지의 특징은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 암묵지는 앎에 대한 강한 요구를 토대로 하여 자발적, 내재적으로 형성되는 경우가 많다 둘째, 암묵지는 관 련 현장의 구체적인 경험을 토대로 하여 형성된다. 셋째, 암묵지는 과학적 지식과의 융합을 통 하여 암묵지 자체의 확장이나 기능을 제고한다.
