In order to enhance the sustainability of SME exports, this study empirically analyzed the relationship between SME export performance determinants, and its determinants and export support systems. For this empirical analysis, a research model was developed that integrates various research perspectives related to international management, and empirical analysis was conducted using questionnaire data of export SMEs. As a result of analysis, it was found that the viewpoints of the existing international management theory were also significant in the analysis of determinants of export performance of SMEs. Most research hypotheses were supported. In particular, the qualitative analysis showed that the SME export support system was not effective, but the empirical analysis proved that it had a positive effect on SMEs' export performance improvement. However, it was analyzed that the current export support system does not work effectively to resolve the difficulties that are structurally preventing SMEs from exporting. In reality, since the sustainability of export SME depends on the elimination of structural export difficulties such as libility of foreignness, the restructuring of the current export support system should be actively promoted.

본 연구는 중소기업 수출의 지속가능성을 제고하기 위해 중소기업 수출 성과 결정요인분석과 더불어 수출성과 결정요인과 수출지원 제도 간의 관련성에 관해 실증적으로 분석하였다. 본 실증 분석을 위해 국제경영관련 다양한 연구관점을 통합한 연구모형을 수립하였 으며, 수출중소기업 대상의 설문자료를 사용하여 실증분석을 실시하였다. 분석 결과, 기존 국제경영이론의 관점들은 중소기업 수출성과 결정요인 분석에도 유의미한 것으로 나타났으며, 대부분의 연구가설 이 지지되는 것으로 분석되었다. 특히, 정성적 분석에서는 중소기업 수출지원제도가 정상적으로 작동하기 어려운 구조인 것으로 나타 났으나, 실증분석에서는 중소기업의 수출성과 제고에 긍정적인 영향을 발휘하고 있음이 실증되었다. 다만, 현행 수출지원제도가 중소 기업의 수출을 구조적으로 가로막고 있는 제반 애로의 해소에는 효과적으로 작동하지 못하는 것으로 분석되었다. 실제 수출 중소기업 이 실감하는 지속가능성은 구조적 수출애로의 해소와 깊은 관련이 있기 때문에 이의 개선을 위한 현행 수출지원제도의 개편이 적극 추 진되어야 할 것이다.
