Godism is a worldview based on Rev. Sun Myung Moon’s new view of God. This paper explains the main themes of Eastern and Western views of reality from the perspective of Godism, and shows their significant implications. Godism possesses wider and deeper insights integrating Eastern and Western views of reality. This is possible because the God of Godism has both Sungsang and Hyungsang dual characteristics, and Yang and Yin dual characteristics. Godism seems able to explain more adequately such themes of Western view of reality as absolute being, creation, the purpose of creation, idea, eidos, prime matter, logos, nous, mind, soul, body, based on the concept of Sungsang and Hyungsang dual characteristics. It seems able to explain more adequately such themes of Eastern view of reality as yin and yang, li and chi, relation, harmony, change, universal laws, man and woman, teleology and dysteleology, based on both the concepts of Yang and Yin dual characteristics and Sungsang and Hyungsang dual characteristics.

하나님주의는 문선명 선생의 새로운 신관에 근거한 세계관이다. 이 논문은 하나님주의 관 점에서 동서양 궁극적 실재관의 주요 주제들을 새롭게 설명하고, 그 의의를 보여준다. 하나님 주의는 동서양 실재관을 종합하는 확장되고 심화된 새로운 통찰을 제시한다. 이것은 하나님이 성상과 형상의 이성성상과 양성과 음성의 이성성상이라는 본성을 가지고 있기 때문에 가능하 다. 하나님주의는 성상과 형상의 이성성상에 기초하여, 서양의 실재관에 나타난 절대자, 창조, 창조목적, 이데아, 형상(eidos), 질료, 로고스, 누스, 정신, 영혼, 육체 등의 주요 주제들을 포괄 하여 보다 타당하게 설명하며, 동시에 양성과 음성의 이성성상 그리고 성상과 형상의 이성성상 에 함께 기초하여, 동양의 실재관에 나타난 음양, 리기, 관계, 조화, 변화, 법칙, 남녀, 목적성과 우연성 등의 주요 주제들도 포괄하여 보다 타당하게 설명한다.
