Finding, enjoying, and sharing the value of cultural heritage is called "utilization of cultural heritage”. The utilization of cultural heritage is becoming more active due to the government's support, cooperation of local governments and private participation. However, there are limitations such as the fact that the use of cultural heritage is not concentrated on the essential values of cultural heritage and that there are many cultural heritages that do not receive attention. The study analyzed the meaning of the use of the temple site as a cultural heritage and sought ways to use the Namha-ri Temple Site in Jeungpyeong, Chungcheongbuk-do Province, and cultural heritages on the site as examples. After analyzing the values and characteristics of the cultural heritage, I proposed educational use as a practical method of utilization accordingly. The Namha-ri Temple Site and the cultural heritages on the site are local cultural heritages, which are different from those of the central region such as the ancient capital. They contain regional and historical characteristics that show cultural diversity. From this perspective, the three-story stone pagoda and the rock cliff Buddha statue of Namha-ri Temple Site can be compared with those of other regions and periods to find common features and characteristics, thereby making the learners aware of their significance and value as local cultural heritages. The main content of this study is that we can enhance the educational effect in a way that learners as subjects find the meaning and value of local cultural heritage through comparison.

문화재의 가치를 찾아 누리고 나누는 것을 문화재 활용이라고 한다. 정부의 지 원 사업과 지방자치단체의 협력, 민간 참여 등으로 문화재 활용은 점점 활발해지 고 있다. 그런데, 문화재 활용이 문화재가 가진 본질적 가치에 집중되지 못하는 점 이나 소외되는 문화재가 많다는 점 등 한계도 있다. 이 연구는 문화재로서 사지 활용이 갖는 의미를 분석하고, 충북 증평 남하리사 지와 소재 문화재를 사례로 활용 방안을 모색한 것이다. 문화재가 가진 가치와 특 성을 분석한 후 그에 맞춘 실질적 활용 방안으로 교육적 활용을 제안했다. 남하리사지와 소재 문화재는 지역 문화재로서 고도(古都) 등 중심 지역의 것들 과는 다른 그 지역의 문화를 담고 있다. 문화적 다양성을 보여주는 지역적ㆍ시대적 특성이 녹아있는 것이다. 이런 시각에서 남하리사지 삼층석탑과 마애불상군을 다른 지역, 다른 시대의 것들과 비교함으로써 공통점과 특성을 찾고, 이를 통해 지역 문화재로서의 의미와 가치를 인식하게 할 수 있다. 학습자가 주체가 되어 비교 를 통해 지역 문화재로서의 의미와 가치를 찾는 방법으로 교육적 효과를 높일 수 있다는 것이 이 연구의 중심 내용이다.
