This study is an attempt to interpret politics through visuals. In this study, I critically analyzed a visual and political language represented in candidate Ahn Cheol-soo’s presidential election poster in the 19th presidential election, which is analyzed to reveal a political “dis-ease.” I t is f irst, through a divided body reconstructed into a Montage, the tension to overcome the imperfection of the natural body and represent the perfect political body becomes visible as the dis-ease. Second, through Ahn Cheol-soo’s shadow, people become to face the dis-ease, which reveals the subtle contradiction between mystery and transcendence contrasting to reality and vitality. Third, through Ahn Cheol-soo’s hand and name that were cut on the presidential election poster, the dis-ease between the actual political arena and the staged political arena is revealed. Fourth, between the all-out visibility of formal language and the drastic deletion of content language in the poster, the dis-ease potential for the imbalance of semantics is visualized.

본 연구는 시각적인 것을 통하여 정치를 해석하려는 시도인데, 구체적으로 는 제19대 대통령 선거 당시 안철수 후보의 선거포스터에 나타난 시각정치적 언어를 비판적으로 연구한다. 안철수의 대선포스터는 정치적 “불-안감”을 드러 내는데, 그것은 첫째, 합성구성형식(몽타주)으로 재구성된 분열된 신체를 통 해, 자연적 신체의 불완전함을 지우고 완벽한 정치적 신체를 재현하고자 하는 긴장감이 불-안감으로 가시화된다. 둘째, 안철수의 그림자를 통해, 사실성과 생생함에 대비되는 신비감과 초월성 사이의 미묘한 모순이 드러나는 불-안감 을 대면하게 된다. 셋째, 포스터에서 잘려나간 손과 이름을 통해, 실제 정치적 장과 연출된 정치적 장(무대) 사이의 불-안감이 드러난다. 넷째, 포스터에서 형식언어의 전면적인 가시화와 대비되는 내용언어의 과감한 삭제 사이에도 의 미론적 불균형이 잠재되어 있는 불-안감을 가시화하고 있다.
