This paper shows the characteristics of Kaesong Double Entry focusing on Journal entries, which are Integrity, Duality and Futurity. The really important lesson to be learned from the Journal Entry is the importance of accounting history for the understanding of rational capital society. Europeans invented a historical myth about DEB, their allegedly unique European roots. In this paper, the roots of DEB were much more in East Asia Korea Kaesong than in Italian Venice, We will observe in this paper how Kaesong Journal was still kept on Integrity, Duality and Futurity during early modern times, before the propagation of the Eurocentric Idea.

이 글은 19세기 개성상인 후예 박영진 가문이 소장해 온 일기 분석을 통해 합리적 자본의 3대 특성인 정직성, 복식성, 미래성을 실증하여 동아시아 사회도 자본의 합리성을 지키는 DEB 문화를 발전시켜왔음을 모색한 글이다. 또한 이 글에서는 자본주의 문화의 유럽중심사관(Eurocentralism)의 기원을 이루는 이탈리아 베니스와 플로렌스 지방의 15세기에서 19세기 일기와의 비교를 통해 조선 후기 개성지방의 일기(분개) 기록이 베니스 플로렌스 등 유럽의 일기(분개) 기록보다 훨씬 더 우수한 방식으로 정직성, 복식성, 그리고 미래성이라는 특성을 지닌 DEB 문화를 보유하고 있었음을 제시한다.
