Logging is known to change habitat structures and qualities of various plants and animals and mostly, negatively affects the community. In order to know if different logging types differentially affect reptile community, we have comparatively, repeatedly, monitored reptile fauna following recent harvesting among one control and two different logging areas (control site, aggregated retention site, and clear cutting site) in 2016 and 2018. We found total 16 snakes of two reptile species, Elaphe dione (12 inds) and Golydius ussuriensis (4 inds). Each four snakes were identified in clear cutting site, while 3 and 5 E. dione in control and in aggregated retention site, respectively. Over the time after harvesting, number of snakes found tended to decrease in control site and aggregated retention site but it was increased in clear cutting site. Although such differences were not statistically different, possibly due to small sample size, our results imply that clear cutting might have some positive effects on the reptile community in forest ecosystem.

벌채는 동식물들의 서식지 구조를 변화시키고 생물 군집에 부정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 알려져 있다. 본 연구는 서로 다른 벌채유형이 파충류 군집에 미치는 영 향을 알아보기 위해서 대조구, 군상잔존벌지, 개벌지 3 개의 연구지역을 선정하여 2016년과 2018년에 모니터 링을 수행하였다. 그 결과 누룩뱀(E. dione)과 쇠살모사 (G. ussuriensis) 2종을 각각 12개체와 4개체를 확인하였 다. 개벌지에서 누룩뱀(E. dione)과 쇠살모사(G. ussuriensis) 를 각 4개체씩 확인하였으나 대조구와 군상잔존벌지에 서는 누룩뱀(E. dione)을 각 3개체와 5개체 확인하였다. 벌채 후 시간의 흐름에 따라서 대조구와 군상잔존벌지 에서 파충류는 감소한 반면에 개벌지에서는 증가하였 다. 샘플 크기가 작기 때문에 통계적으로 차이를 보이지 는 않았으나 본 연구결과는 개벌이 파충류 군집에 부분 적으로 긍정적인 영향을 줄 수도 있음을 보여준다.
