Martin Bucer, a pastoral scholar in the time of the protestant reformation, was a pious pastor who devoted his time to pray even among the very busy ministry. In order to build christian kingdom under God's command, he devoted himself to ministry through church as well as to the education of Christianity through the establishment of a public school. In 1534, 1537, 1543, three times he published catechisms. He emphasized prayer so much that he placed the Lord's Prayer after the Apostle’ Creed in his catechisms. In his third catechism, written in 1543, he also presented a communal prayer, a fast prayer, and prayer model as examples. Bucer showed an example for pious life. He was a pastor who pray a lot and brought the churches to a communal prayer meeting every morning and evening. They encouraged prayers not only for the church but also for the governors. He pointed out the negative aspect of conventional fast prayer, emphasized christian prayer, and insisted that fasting be done autonomously. In addition to the public prayer meeting, Bucer personally stressed pious life in everyday. Therefore, he presented an example of a prayer model in the catechisms and trained them to pray for God's glory and the good of neighbors. He stressed pray only in the name of Christ.
