The purpose of this study is to define the decline of industrial complexes in complex terms as well as old industrial complexes, and to quantitatively understand how the decline of industrial complexes affects the decline of urban areas. To this end, this study used multiple regression analysis to analyse the factors affecting the decline of cities, mainly among national industrial complexes and general industrial complexes, which are declining. At this time, the decline of industrial complexes and the decline of cities was identified using the composite decline index. As a result, the decline of industrial complexes was defined as the decline of industrial complexes separated from the aging concept and represented from a socioeconomic point of view. In addition, it has been shown that the decline of these industrial complexes affects urban areas. Specifically, industrial diversity in declining industrial complexes and urban areas has proven to affect the decline of cities.
