The purpose of this study is to examine the contents of cross-cultural education and discuss the education plans for North Korean defectors and indigenous peoples(South Koreans) to understand each other's culture. For this purpose, this study found out the direction of cross-cultural education and extracted the contents of cultural education by analyzing the process of the socio-cultural integration and the previous studies of Germany. To improve intercultural competence, we need an open attitude toward other cultures, skills such as skills for interpretation and relations, skills for discovery and interaction, and critical cultural awareness. Besides, an understanding of mental systems such as the way of thinking, emotions, values, and religions of South and North Korea, as well as the knowledge of language and culture regarding the vocabulary and speech of South and North Korea should be preceded. Based on this, this study discussed the ways of cross-cultural education for socio-cultural integration between South and North Korea. Although this study did not verify the effectiveness of the contents of education, it would be meaningful in that it provided basic data for North Korean defectors and indigenous peoples to understand the mutual culture.

본 연구는 북한이탈주민과 선주민이 서로의 문화를 이해할 수 있도록 상호문화교육의 내용을 살펴보고 이들을 위한 교육 방안에 대해 논의하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 독일의 사회문화적 통합 과정과 선행연구를 분석하여 상호문화교육의 방향성을 알아보고, 문화 교육의 내용을 추출하였다. 상호문화능력을 함양하기 위해서는 상호문화에 대한 개방적인 태도와 ‘해석과 연관성’, ‘발견과 상호작용’, ‘비판적 문화 인지’ 등의 기술을 필요로 한다. 또한 남·북한의 사고방식과 정서, 가치관, 종교 등의 정신체계 지식과 남·북한의 어휘 및 화법 등 언어문화 지식에 대한 이해가 선행되어야 한다. 이를 기반으로 본 연구에서는 남·북한 사회문화적 통합을 위한 상호문화교육 방안에 대해 논의하였다. 본 연구는 교육 내용에 대한 효과성은 검증하지 못하였으나, 북한이탈주민과 선주민이 상호 문화를 이해할 수 있도록 기초 자료를 제공하였다는 점에서 의의가 있을 것이다.
