The present study attempted to understand the popularity of “Min-do,” a magazine of Zainichi, amid the popular culturale movement in the 1970s and 1980s. In the 1970s, the Zainichi culturale movement gradually laid the groundwork under the influence of the 7.4 South-North. With the advent of the People's Culture plaque and the holding of the National Cultural Festival, Zainichi society gradually began to appear in the Korean society. In particular, in the context of the solidarity of the Zainichi society and the establishment of independent identity as a contemporary issue, people and intellectuals in Japan focused their attention on the people's cultural movement. Various attempts were made to settle and activate the movement. In particular, the people and intellectuals of Zainichi paid attention to the people's cultural movement in the context of solidarity and establishment of independent identity in the Zainichi community. Several attempts have been made to establish and revitalize the movement. At that time, 『Mindo』 prepared a public relations space for the development of the Japanese people's cultural movement and actively posted the writings of the participants of the people's cultural movement. He also tried to build the cultural foundation of the people's cultural movement through various reviews and articles.

본 논문에서는 재일조선인 민중문예종합지 『민도(民涛)』의 실천을 1970~1980년대 활발히 전개된 재일조선인 민중문화 운동의 흐름 속에서 파악해 보고자 했다. 1970년대 이후 7.4남북공동성명의 영향과 조국의 통일과 민주화 운동을 본격적으 로 전개했던 한민통, 한청, 한학동 등의 활발한 활동 속에서 점차 그 저변을 다져나 간 재일조선인 민중문화 운동은 1980년대 들어 민족・민중문화패의 등장과 민족문화 제의 개최 등으로 점차 전면적으로 재일조선인 사회에 등장하기 시작했다. 특히, 재 일조선인 사회의 결속과 독자적 아이덴티티 구축이 시대적 현안으로 부상한 당시의 상황 속에서 재일조선인 민중과 지식인들은 민중문화 운동에 주목하게 되는데, 재일 조선인 민중문예 종합지 『민도』는 이러한 재일조선인 민중문화 운동을 정착・활성화 시키기 위한 다양한 시도를 전개해나간 바 있다. 당시 『민도』는 재일조선인 민중문화 운동의 전개를 위한 홍보의 공간을 마련하는 한편, 민중문화 운동에 참여하는 이들의 글을 적극적으로 게재하고 있다. 또한, 다수 의 특집과 평론, 기사등을 통해 민중문화 운동의 문화적 기반을 구축하려 노력하기도 했는데, 이는 민중문화 운동을 토대로 재일조선인 사회와 결속하고자 했던 당시의 재일조선인 민중과 지식인들의 고뇌와 실천이 담겨있는 것이라 할 수 있다.
