As the 4th industrial revolution based on big data and artificial intelligence progresses, the era of intelligentization is coming. This means that non-humans such as AI and robots will exist with humans in society. Social studies education that deals with the social faces the challenge of establishing a new social image that includes new beings and forming a new human image accordingly. In order to solve these problems, this study attempted to identify the difficulties of social studies education based on modernity and point out the limitations of postmodern approach, and attempted a nonmodern approach that suited a new society including non-humans. These attempts are concentrated on the subject’s problem and set up a nonmodern subject that is distinct from the modern and postmodern views of the subject. Nonmodern citizens are adjusted subjects and have the third subjectivity, relational subjectivity as nonmodern citizenship. Unlike postmodern citizenship, this firmly adheres to the subject with uniqueness, and unlike modern citizenship, this selectively adopts the relational subjectivity appropriate for each of various non-humans. The research task of nonmodern social studies education is to supplement and complement the hierarchy of subjectivity, the category of modes of existence and the types of relationship between human & non-human.

빅데이터와 인공지능을 기반으로 하는 4차 산업혁명이 진행되면서 지능화의 시대가 도래하고 있다. 이 는 인공지능과 로봇 같은 비인간들이 사회 속에 인간과 함께 존재하게 됨을 의미한다. 사회적인 것을 대상으 로 하는 사회과교육은 새로운 존재들이 포함된 새로운 사회상을 설정하고, 그에 따른 새로운 인간상을 구성 해야 할 과제를 안고 있다. 이러한 과제를 해결하기 위해, 본 연구는 기존에 근대를 기반으로 하였던 사회과교 육의 난점을 규명하고, 그에 대한 탈근대적 접근의 한계를 지적하면서 비인간을 포함하는 새로운 사회상에 적 합한 비근대적 접근을 시도하였다. 이는 곧 주체의 문제로 집약되며, 주체에 대한 근대와 탈근대의 관점과 구 별되는 비근대적 주체를 설정하였다. 비근대 시민은 조정된 주체이며, 비근대 시민성으로서 제3의 주체성, 즉 관계적 주체성을 지닌다. 이것은 탈근대 시민성과는 달리 고유성을 지닌 주체를 끝까지 고수하는 것이며, 근 대 시민성과는 달리 다양한 비인간 각각에 적합한 관계적 주체성들을 선택적으로 발휘하는 것이다. 이때 발 휘될 주체성들의 모음, 즉 주체성의 위계와 함께 존재양식의 범주, 그리고 인간-비인간의 관계 유형을 증보·보 완하는 것이 비근대 사회과교육의 연구과제이다.
