This study was conducted to solve the confusion of Korean translations of entrepreneurship with various concept definition because correct Korean translation with correct concept definition is needed to induce desirable successful start-ups which play an important role in national economic development. The review of related literature confirmed that the problem of the existing Korean translation, that is, the term '企業家精神'(meaning 'businessman spirit'), which has been commonly used, has been mistranslated through Japan, and the inadequacy of the term '企業 家'(meaning 'businessman') and the 'ship' suffix. It was also found that the interpretation of 'spirit' is different from the original meaning. In addition, this study has suggested new Korean translation based Cho(2018)'s definition of entrepreneurship which means 'action and attitude of founder to pursue the desired course challenging and creative innovation for successful business. The new Korean translation suggested is 'innovative founder's behavior and attitude‘(short term 'founder behavior'). This suggestion has been supported from 1) a founder fits the original meaning of entrepreneur, and 2) a general term, '者‘(meaning someone or a man) for a entrepreneur, rather than ’-家' which means '-house' in professional terminology, is more appropriate. And 3) '-ship' means 'behavioral ability' because it means 'ability', 'qualification', 'mindsets', not 'spirit'.

본 연구는 개념적 논의의 연구로 국가 경제발전과 기업 성장에서 매우 중요한 역할을 하는 앙 트러프러너십에 대한 올바른 개념 정의에 따른 국문 번역어가 필요하다는 전제 하에 실제 교육 일선과 정책 실무선에서 느끼는 혼란을 해결하고자 하는 연구목적으로 이루어졌다. 관련 문헌 고찰을 통해 기존 국문 번역어의 문제점, 즉 그동안 일반적으로 사용되어온 ‘기업가 정신(企業家精神)’용어가 일본을 통해 잘못 번역되어 사용되어왔음을 확인할 수 있었다. 그리고 앙트러프러너십의 개념 정의에 관한 기존 논의 정리와 함께 제시된 새로운 규정, 즉 ‘바람직한 사업의 성공적 운영을 위해 창업을 실행하는 과정에서 앙트러프러너가 보이는 도전적 이고 창의적 혁신을 추구하는 행동과 자세‘라는 관점에 기반해 새로운 국문 번역어로 ‘혁신적 창 업자의 행동자세’(짧게 ’창업자 행동자세’)를 제시하였다. 이에 관한 제시 근거로 1) 기업가(企業 家)가 아닌 창업자(創業者)가 ‘앙트러프러너’의 원래 뜻에 적합하며, 2) 직업적 용어로 쓰이는 ‘-가(家)’가 아닌 창업하는 사람을 일반적으로 표현한 ‘창업자(創業者)’가 더 적합하다는 점, 그 리고 3) ‘-ship'의 의미는 ’정신‘이 아닌 능력, 자격, 마음가짐 등의 의미이기에 ’행동자세‘가 더 어울린다고 설명 등이다.
