The purpose of this study was to analyze whether the cooperation with the parent organization plays a role in the effect of the characteristics of the capabilities and skills of research-based spinoffs on performance. The results of the analysis show that the technological excellence, R & D capability, production capability, and marketing capability of the Research-based Spin-off Company had a positive influence on the performance. And value-chain cooperation with parent organization mediate the influence between production capacity and performance. However, R & D cooperation with the parent company has a positive effect on performance, but it does not mediate the influence between company's capabilities and technological excellence. The analysis results of this study suggest that in order to improve the performance of research-based spin-off companies, the various capacities of companies must be strengthened and cooperation with the parent organization is necessary. Therefore, in order to generate performance of research-based spin-off companies, the government, universities and public research institutes should think institutionally for support and cooperation.

저성장과 취업난으로 인해 스핀오프 기업의 활성화가 필요한 시점이다. 본 연구에 서는 연구기반 스핀오프가 가지고 있는 역량과 기술의 특성이 경영성과에 미치는 영 향에 있어 모조직과의 협력이 매개역할을 하는지에 대하여 연구소기업을 대상으로 분 석하였다. 연구소기업은 대학이나 공공연구기관의 기술을 출자받아 설립한 신기업이 다. 분석결과 연구소기업의 기술 우수성, 연구개발역량, 생산역량, 마케팅역량은 경영성 과에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 모기업과의 가치사슬구축 협력은 연 구기반 스핀오프 기업의 기술 우수성과 생산역량과 경영성과를 매개하는 효과를 보였 다. 그런데 모기업과의 연구개발 협력은 스핀오프 기업의 경영성과에 정(+)의 영향을 미치나 기업의 역량과 기술 우수성을 매개하지 않았다. 본 연구의 분석결과는 연구기반 스핀오프 기업의 경영성과를 높이기 위해서는 기업의 다양한 역량을 강화하고, 모조직과의 연구개발 중심의 기존협력 틀에서 벗어나, 실 제 제품을 만들고 판매할 수 있는 가치사슬을 구축하는데 지원을 해야함을 시사한다. 연구기반 스핀오프는 신기술을 기반으로 설립된 신기업으로 기술수준과 연구개발역량 은 높은 수준이나, 실제 매출이 발생하기 위해서는 시장개척, 유통망 확보, 공급자 교 섭, 파트너 기업 발굴 등 가치사슬구축이 필요하다. 따라서 연구기반 스핀오프 기업의 성과창출을 위해서는 부족한 역량에 대한 지원과 협력방안에 대하여 정부, 대학 및 공공연구기관에서 제도적으로 고민하여야 한다.
