Community Building movement is the movement to create a recovery community livable Community based on the voluntary participation of residents. The town development exercise, it can be called a citizen participation is essential in order to be elicit such participation continues to deploy this critical role of village activists. Here the researchers have determined that it requires a specific analysis on the role of village activists. Through qualitative content analysis research method for this study based on the relevant information about the town it was drawn to the role identity of the village activists. Results showed that with the village activists philosophy practitioners, organizations, practitioners, educators village, town planners the role of identity in accordance with the content of the activity. Each role has two difficult aspects Although clearly separated from each other thus it is believed that the village activists need to exert extensive competence and expertise in the process of town. If you envision a town training course in this regard it is to show that education is not confined to the necessary practical knowledge piecemeal through practical experience in the field, focusing on knowledge and expertise. And the village activists had found a human with a charm that can lead to the participation of residents and reliability, collaboration and administrative sectors and network capabilities and expertise in local knowledge is required than what is deep love for the area.

마을만들기 운동은 주민들의 자발적인 참여를 바탕으로 살기 좋은 마을을 조성하기 위 한 공동체 회복운동이다. 이러한 마을만들기 운동에는 주민참여가 필수적인데 그러한 참여 를 이끌어내고 지속적으로 전개되기 위해서는 마을활동가들의 역할이 핵심적이라 할 수 있다. 여기에서 본 연구자는 마을활동가들의 역할에 대한 구체적인 분석이 필요하다고 판 단하였다. 이를 위해 질적내용분석 연구방법을 통해 마을만들기 관련 연구들을 토대로 마 을활동가의 역할정체성에 대한 내용을 도출하였다. 연구 결과 마을활동가는 활동의 내용에 따라 이념실천가, 조직실무자, 마을교육가, 마을기획가의 역할정체성을 가지는 것으로 나타 났다. 각각의 역할은 서로 명확하게 구분되기는 어려운 측면이 있으며 따라서 마을활동가 는 마을만들기 과정에서 다방면적인 역량과 전문성을 발휘할 필요가 있는 것으로 여겨진 다. 이러한 점에서 마을만들기 양성과정을 구상한다면 단편적인 실무지식에 국한하는 교육 이 아니라 현장에서 실천하는 경험을 통한 지식과 전문성에 초점을 두는 것이 필요하다고 보여 진다. 그리고 마을활동가에게는 주민들의 참여를 이끌어 낼 수 있는 인간적인 매력 과 신뢰성, 행정 부문과의 협업 및 네트워크 능력 그리고 지역적 지식에 대한 전문성과 함 께 지역에 대한 깊은 애착이 무엇보다 필요함을 알 수 있었다.
