This study explored the relationship between the usage degree of senior welfare center and the life satisfaction in rural area. The subjects in this study were 190 senior citizen who were aged between 65 and 85 over. They lived in Goesan in Chungbuk province. A SPSS 19.0 program was employed to analyse the collected data, and frequency analysis, descriptive statistics, independent-samples t-test, two-way ANOVA were utilized to find out the mediating effect. In conclusion, I have found out that the elderly people who used senior welfare center gave us meaningful differences statically in life attitude and life satisfaction. But the results of this study were not enough to generalize to national level. Future studies are recommended to explore this topic further in order to establish causal relationship between social support and leisure activities among the elderly.

본 연구는 농촌지역 거주 노인들을 대상으로 노인복지관 이용에 따른 삶의 만족도를 살피 기 위한 기초 자료를 분석하는 것을 목적으로 시행되었다. 본 연구의 대상자들은 충청북도 괴산군에 거주하면서 노인복지관에 다니는 60세 이상의 노인 190명이었다. 본 조사연구의 주 요 분석결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 인구사회학적 특성 및 생활실태에 따른 노인복지관 이 용 만족도의 차이를 살펴보았다. 그 결과, 노인들 중 학력이 국졸인 경우, 생활비가 100만원 이하인 경우, 배우자 및 이웃친지로부터 고민과 걱정 해결을 위한 도움을 받는 경우 상대적 으로 노인복지관 이용 만족도가 높은 것으로 조사되었다. 또한, 과거직업이 전업주부인 경우 상대적으로 삶의 만족도가 높은 것으로 조사되었다. 노인복지관 이용에 따른 삶의 만족도의 차이를 살펴본 결과, 복지관 이용정도가 높은 경우 상대적으로 삶의 만족도가 높은 것으로 조사되었다. 이와 같은 결과는 노인교육, 노인여가 교육에 많은 시사점을 던진다.
