This study was conducted to improve the quality of private security guards by effectively managing diversified and specialized private security. Analyzing the problems of current education and training programs and suggesting improvement plans, analyzing actual situation to improve the problems of formal education and training system practiced by private security education institutions and security companies, The concept of practical private education and training considering the characteristics of private security work is now established. The purpose of this study is to suggest a way to improve the professionalism of education and training specializing in the modern age based on existing education and training. In this study, the ways to improve the professionalism of private security guards training are as follows. First, the development of educational programs that divide general security guards into separate tasks (facility security, personal security, personal security, and machine security) to pursue professionalism through education and training programs so that private security work can be positioned as a profession. Second, legal backing is essential for granting professionalism to education and training through the introduction of qualifications system to secure professionalism. In order for the qualifications system to be applied specifically to the security and security affairs, strong sanctions on qualifications for job duties should be legislated, Police-related departments and colleges. The university should establish a cooperative system of government, academia and industry to maximize the utilization of university’s excellent talents and lecturers to improve the quality and security of the private security and security industry in Korea. Third, quality services should be provided through improvement of education and training. Fourth, to improve the professionalism of the guard instructor system, the examination standard should be strengthened, the career standard should be set when the guard instructor is appointed, Reinforcement of education and strengthening supervision of police agencies are required. In addition, by appointing and arranging the guard instructor independently for each guard company, it is possible to enhance the expertise by realizing the security guards practically and effectively.

본 연구는 다양화･전문화되어가는 민간경비업무를 효율적으로 운영하고 민간경비원의 질적 수준향상을 위해 교육훈련적인 측면에서 접근하였다. 현행 교육훈련 프로그램의 문제 점들을 분석하여 향상 방안을 제시하고, 민간경비 교육기관과 경비업체에서 실질적으로 행하고 있는 형식적인 교육훈련제도의 문제점들을 개선하기 위해 실태를 분석하며, 현재 민간경비 업무특성을 고려한 실질적인 민간경비 교육훈련의 개념을 정립하고, 기존의 교육 훈련을 토대로 현대에 맞게 전문화된 교육훈련 전문성 향상 방안을 제시하고자 하는데 이 연구의 목적이 있다. 이 연구에서 민간경비원 교육훈련 전문성 향상 방안은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 민간경비업무가 전문직으로서 자리 잡을 수 있도록 교육훈련의 프로그램을 통한 전문성을 추구하기 위해 일반경비원을 업무별(시설경비･호송경비･신변보호･기계경비)로 나누어지는 교육프로그램의 개발을 제시하였다. 둘째, 전문성 확보를 위한 자격제도 도입 을 통해 교육훈련에 전문성을 부여하기 위해서는 법적 뒷받침이 필수요소로 따른다. 자격 제도가 경호･경비업무에 구체적으로 적용될 수 있도록 직무수행자격에 대한 강력한 제재 가 법제화되어야 하고, 경호･경찰관련학과 소재 대학은 관･학･산업체의 협력체계를 구축 하여 대학의 우수한 인재와 강사진의 활용도를 최대한 끌어올려 한국 민간경호･경비산업 의 질적 향상과 제도적 안정을 이루어야 할 것이다. 셋째, 교육훈련의 개선을 통해 질 높은 서비스를 제공하여야 한다. 넷째, 경비지도사 제도의 전문성 향상 방안은 시험기준을 강화 하고 경비지도사 선임시 경력기준을 두어야 하며, 재교육과 경찰기관의 지속적인 감독강화 가 요구된다. 또한 경비업체별로 경비지도사를 단독 선임･배치하게 하여 경비원을 실질 적･효과적으로 직무를 수행하게 하여 전문성을 높일 수 있다.
