This study has taken a qualitative research method, Narrative Approach, to explore the relationship between social conceptions and criminal damage experienced by the Adult Entertainment Workers in the context of life. Currently, the number of Adult Entertainment Workers is increasing significantly through diversification. According to this study, there is a myth that first, Adult Entertainment Workers are people who provide sex services such as prostitution, work to satisfy a customer's sexual needs, and therefore, as long as the customer pays, excessive touch and sexual contact are allowed to some extent within a given period of time. Second, the process of becoming an Adult Entertainment Workers is related to the life-changing process of family dissolution, individual economic crisis and individual economic resources improvement. Third, it was found that there is a prejudice that Adult Entertainment Workers are people who provide sex services such as prostitution, and there is a great fear of being victimized by crime. Fourth, the crime damage caused by social convention was mainly the responsibility of the karaoke assistants, who were women, and the fear of legal crackdowns was also the responsibility of the Dowoomi, who were women rather than the Bodosunsu. Fifth, because of their professional characteristics, workers are very afraid of their jobs being known around them. Therefore, to keep one's job secret, one acts to end or narrow one's own social relations. Lastly, since this study was conducted by an interview formatcounseling-, participants stated that they could expose their psychological pain through dialogue and received support and consolation from researchers. On the other hand, the study is valuable as there are little qualitative research done with male and female Adult Entertainment Workers, and therefore is expected to serve as a basis for further research.

본 연구는 유흥업종사자가 경험한 사회통념과 범죄피해가 이들의 삶의 맥락에서 어떠한 영향을 미치 고 있는가를 탐색하기 위하여 질적 연구방법인 내러티브적 연구방법으로 접근 하였다. 현재 유흥업은 다변화와 다양화를 통해 점차 유흥업종사자의 유입이 크게 늘어나고 있는 추세이다. 본 연구결과를 보 면, 첫째, 유흥업종사자들은 손님의 성적 욕구를 채워주는 일을 하는 사람들이고, 따라서 손님이 돈을 지불한 만큼 일정 시간 내에서 과도한 스킨십이나 성적 접촉이 어느 정도는 허용되는 사람들이라는 사회통념이 존재한다. 둘째, 유흥업종사자가 되는 과정은 가족해체, 개인의 경제위기, 개인의 경제적 자원 향상이라는 삶의 전환과정과 연관이 있다. 셋째, 유흥업종사자는 성매매 등의 성 서비스를 제공하 는 사람들이라는 편견이 있고, 범죄피해를 당할 것에 대한 두려움이 매우 크다는 것을 알 수 있다. 넷째, 사회통념에 따른 범죄피해는 주로 여성인 노래방 도우미들의 몫이었고 법적 단속의 두려움도 보도선수 들보다는 여성인 노래방 도우미들의 몫이었다. 다섯째, 직업적 특성상 종사자들은 자신의 직업이 주변에 알려지는 것에 대한 두려움이 매우 크다. 따라서 자신의 직업이 들통 나지 않게 하기 위하여 스스로 사회적 관계를 단절하거나 좁히는 행동을 한다. 마지막으로 본 연구는 상담이라는 방법을 동원한 인터뷰 형식이었기 때문에 참여자들은 대화를 통해서 자신의 상처를 드러내고 연구자로부터 지지와 위로를 받는 경험을 하였다고 진술하였다. 한편 유흥업종사자에 대한 연구가 거의 없는 상태에서 남녀 유흥업종 사자에 대한 질적 연구 자료로서 가치가 있고 향후 후속연구에 기초적 배경이 되리라 기대된다.
