The purpose of this study was to investigate whether group art therapy program is effective for interpersonal relationship of disabled children's mother who has difficulty in self-expression. The subjects of this study were the 40 mothers of children who were diagnosed with disabilities at the integrated child care center in A city. After the Assertive Behavior Assessment, 14 applicants who wanted to participate in the program with score of 60 or less were randomly assigned to the control group and the experimental group by 7 persons each. The program was conducted for 120 minutes, once a week, with a total of 8 sessions. In this study, Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test was conducted to test whether the interpersonal relationship scale was effective by comparing the scores before and after the program. In addition, the changes of interpersonal relationships by session were qualitatively analyzed through observation items in the process of group art activities. The results of the study are follows. First, it was shown that group art therapy was effective in improving interpersonal relationship of disabled children's mother. Second, passive self-expression at the initial stage during group art therapy process increased intimacy by helping natural communication based on telling stories about the art work while proceeding the session. Honest and active self-expression through this result expanded the communication ability and the interaction of the interpersonal relationship, and confirmed that the group art therapy has a positive effect on improving the interpersonal relationship of disabled children's mother.

이 연구는 집단미술치료 프로그램이 자기표현에 어려움이 있는 장애아동 어머니의 대 인관계에 효과가 있는지를 알아보고자 하였다. 연구대상은 A시 통합어린이집에서 장애진 단을 받은 아동의 어머니 중 40명을 대상으로 자기표현검사를 실시한 후, 그 중 자기표현 점수가 60점 이하이면서 프로그램 참여를 희망하는 신청자 14명을 통제집단과 실험집단 에 각각 7명씩 무선배치 하였다. 프로그램은 총 8회기로 주 1회기 당, 120분간 진행하였 다. 이 연구에서는 대인관계 척도의 실험 전과 실험 후의 값을 비교하여 효과가 있는지를 검정하기 위해 윌콕슨 부호 순위 검정(Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test)을 실시하였다. 또한 집단미술활동 과정에서 회기별 대인관계의 변화를 관찰항목을 통해 질적 분석하였다. 이 연구의 주요 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 집단미술치료 프로그램이 장애아동 어 머니의 대인관계 향상에 있어서 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 둘째, 집단미술치료 과정에서 초기의 소극적인 자기표현은 회기를 진행하면서 작품에 대한 이야기를 하는 것으로 자연 스러운 소통을 도와 친밀감을 증가시킨다. 이를 통한 솔직하고 적극적인 자기표현은 의사 소통의 능력을 확장하고 대인관계의 상호작용이 활발해짐으로 집단미술치료가 장애아동 어머니의 대인관계 향상에 긍정적 효과가 있음을 확인하였다.
