This paper examined the continuity of Yuasa Katsue's postwar colonial experience. Asia in the 1960s was split under the Cold War, and the literary community also split into the Asian-African Writers' Conference and the International Pen Club-centered literary association. In chapter 1, I reviewed aspects of the Cold War and decolonial movements of Asian literature in the 1960s, mainly the Asian and African Writers' Conference and the International Pen Congress. In Chapter 2, I analyzed the meaning and problems of the fact that Yuasa Katsue visited Korea for the first time after the postwar at the Seoul Asian Writers' Literary Lecture held in Seoul in 1962 hosted by the Korean Pen Club. In particular, I analyzed the Korean press and the articles of Yuasa Katsue, which introduced Yuasa Katsue's actions at the time, and examined that pro-Japanese and anti-communism under the Cold War composition in Asia influenced Yuasa Katsue's perception of postwar Korea. In Chapter 3, I was able to confirm through the postwar Japanese alumni records that Japanese visits to Korea with colonial experience could show stereotyped emotions. This was because postwar Japanese colonial nostalgia showed a continuity that was not cut off from the prewar period. In conclusion, I revealed that the “friendly friendship” spoken by the Japanese after the war was constrained by the limitations of anti-communism and nationalism in Asia under the Cold War.

이 글에서는 유아사 가쓰에의 전후 식민지 경험의 연속성을 고찰하였다. 1960년대 아시아는 냉전하에 분열되어, 문학계에서도 아시아・아프리카 작가회의(A.A작가회의)와 국제 펜클럽 중심의 문학가 단체로 분열되어 있었다. 1장에서는 주로 1960년대 아시아 문학의 냉전과 탈식민의 움직임의 양상을 아시아・아프리카 작가회의와 국제 펜대회를 중심으로 고찰하였다. 2장에서는 1962년 한국 펜클럽 주최로 서울에서 개최된 <서울 아시아 작가 문학 강연회>에 참가한 재조일본인이었던 유아사 가쓰에(湯淺克衛, 1910-1981)가 패전 후 처음으로 한국을 방문한 사실의 의미와 문제를 분석하였다. 특히 당시 유아사 가쓰에의 행적을 소개한 한국의 언론 보도와 유아사 가쓰에의 글을 분석하여, 아시아의 냉전 구도 하의 친일, 반공주의가 그의 전후 한국에 대한 인식에 영향을 주고 있음을 고찰했다. 3장에서는 식민지 경험이 있는 일본인들의 한국 방문이 전후 스테레오타입화된 감정을 보여주는 것을 전후 일본인들의 동창회 기록을 통해 확인하였다. 그것은 전후 재조일본인들의 식민지 조선에 대한 성찰없는 향수이고, 전전과의 단절 없는 연속이었다. 또한, 전후 재조일본인들이 이야기한 ‘우호친선’이 냉전하 아시아에서 반공과 자민족 중심의 민족주의의 한계에 제약되고 있었다는 것을 명백하게 하였다.
