Purpose: The purpose of this study was to review the statistical methods used in the articles published in the Journal of the Korean Society of Cosmetology. Methods: A total of 136 articles published in 2018 were analyzed. Using descriptive statistics such as frequency and percentage, we reviewed the respective study types, statistical techniques, and statistical errors according to the predefined criteria. Results: 74.5% of the submitted articles used questionnaire surveys and experimental research. 14 different types of statistical techniques were used, of which 56.3% involved t-test, analysis of variance (ANOVA), and factor analysis. Errors identified in the statistical methods used included omission, incorrect statistical term usage, incorrect statistical technique usage, and errors when statistically interpreting the respective results. Conclusion: It is necessary to facilitate the correct and appropriate use of statistical methods to enhance the validity and reliability of the respective research.

목적: 본 연구의 목적은 2018년 한국미용학회지에 게재된 논문의 통계적 방법을 고찰하기 위한 것이다. 방법: 2018년 한국미용학 회지에 게재된 총 136개의 논문을 사전 정의된 기준에 따라 연구 유형, 통계 기법, 통계적 오류를 고찰하고 빈도와 퍼센트로 제시하 였다. 결과: 총 74.5%의 논문이 설문조사와 실험 연구였고, 총 14가지 종류의 통계기법을 사용하였고, t-test, 분산분석 및 요인분 석이 56.3% 사용되었다. 논문에 사용된 통계기법의 오류는 통계용어와 사용한 통계기법의 생략과 잘못된 용어와 기법의 적용 및 분 석결과의 해석 오류였다. 결론: 연구의 타당성과 신뢰성을 높이기 위해 통계적 방법을 정확하게 사용할 필요가 있다.
