Most of the countries in which casino businesses are legalized invest effort into minimizing the industry-related problems such as large-scale cash transactions and gambling addiction and contributing to creation of a healthy society through a systematic regulation and supervision. Unfortunately, different forms of illegal activities that involve the personnel and trade secret misappropriation are reported to be prevalent in the South Korean industry. In this research, the types of incidents and accidents occurring in the South Korean casino industry as well as the factors related to them were analyzed. A comprehensive literature review and an in-depth interview with security management personnel were carried out, and ways to facilitate an efficient practice of security management at the casinos from the perspectives of physical security, operations, and policy are suggested. Based on the findings, introduction of an advanced physical security system for improved accuracy in examining different forms of personal identification, an integrated security system promoting a synergy effect of safety management and surveillance duties, and legislation and/or policies aimed at reducing the use of violent language and aggressive behavior in customers and alleviating the psychological burden on the security personnel are the suggested.

카지노를 합법적으로 허용하고 있는 대부분의 국가에서는 카지노에 대한 체계적인 관리·감독을 통해 대규모 현금성 금전거래, 도박중독 등의 다양한 범죄발생과 카지노 산업의 부정적인 영향을 최소화하고 건전한 사회 환경을 조성하기 위해 노력하고 있다. 하지만 국내 카지노 산업에서 카지노 종사원과 관련된 부정행위, 카지노 사업자 관련 영업침해 등 다양한 형태의 불법행위가 높은 빈도로 발생하고 있다는 것을 각종 언론보도를 통해서 접할 수 있다. 이 연구에서는 국내 카지노 산업의 사건사고 유형을 심층적으로 분석하고 이러한 문제가 양산되는 원인을 발견하여 불법 활동의 부정적 영향을 최소화 할 수 있는 카지노 보안관리 효율화 방안을 모색했다. 이에 따라 국내 카지노 사건사고 관련 문헌고찰과 보안관리 종사원과의 심층면담을 통해 카지노 보안관리 효율화 방안을 물리적, 운영적, 제도적 측면으로 나누어 살펴보았다. 이를 통해 물리적 측면은 부정입장 행위에 대한 신분확인 및 검색의 정확성을 향상 시킬 수 있는 첨단 물리보안시스템 구축, 운영적 측면은 안전관리 업무와 서베일런스 업무가 상호 시너지를 발휘할 수 있는 통합관리 체계 마련, 제도적 측면은 카지노 이용객에 의한 폭언·폭행 등의 각종 위협을 제거함에 따른 심리적 부담을 완화할수 있는 법·제도적 개선 방안을 제시하였다.
