In this paper, I tried to approach the microcosm of Chosun Literary history to understand the perception of the history of literature and to discover the issues contained in it. First, I tried to understand the attitude of the Sino-korean history by using the heading in the table of contents. Then, three topics were extracted from the Chosun Dynasty and the description and characteristics were explained. Extraction of the subject has been discussed in common with each text. As a result, Chosun Literary history has been following the traditional method of narrative history The problem of expounding the explanation of the historical background such as politics, society, and economy was followed by the way the advanced researchers continued. The sino-korean poetry of Chosun dynasty was divided into Sajangpa, Dohakpa, Samdang-poet, women’s sino-korean poetry. Even when dealing with themes, they differed in their descriptions. Li-am, when describing ‘Sajangpa and Dohakpa’, had a relatively brief description because he had already devoted a large portion of the preceding section, When Cho-dongil describes literature and history together, he exemplifies writers and works with various slits. In the Samdang-poet part, after introducing the author in common, I took the example of the author's work as an example. However, the individual works in the examples were different from each other. Finally, in the women's sino-korean poetry part, while Cho-dongil described it as a separate chapter called women's sino-korean poetry, Li-am categorized the poem as a subject. It is regrettable that most of the History of literature takes the form of collecting, sorting, and enumerating data. It is necessary to write a description that shows the researcher's perspective. From this point of view, it can be read as a positive phenomenon that the artist or work presented does not match. The current literary history is not a ‘syntactic’ but an atmosphere of writing a genre or a specific history. In this situation, interest in ‘syntactic’ is required again.

이 논문에서는 이암(외)의 『조선문학통사』를 미시적으로 접근하여 면밀하게 읽어 내려가며 문학사를 서술하는 인식을 파악하고 그 속에 담겨있는 쟁점을 발견하고자 했다. 먼저 목차에 드러난 표제어를 통해 한문학사에 대한 서술 태도를 파악하고자 했다. 그리고 세부 내용으로 접근하여 조선 전기 한시에서 3가지 주제를 추출하여 서술 양상과 특징을 밝혔다. 주제의 추출은 각 텍스트에서 공통으로 다루고 있는 것을 논의의 대상으로 삼았다. 그 결과 이암의 󰡔조선문학통사󰡕는 전통적인 문학사 서술의 방식을 이어오고 있었다. 정치ㆍ사회ㆍ경제와 같은 역사적 배경에 대한 설명을 방대하게 서술하는 문제는, 앞선 연구자들이 계속 해오던 방식을 그대로 답습하고 있는 것이었다. 조선 전기 한시에 대해서는 사장파와 도학파, 삼당 시인, 여성 한시로 나누어 살펴보았다. 주제들을 다룰 때에도 서술 양상에 차이를 보였다. 이암은 사장파와 도학파를 서술할 때, 이미 앞의 개술 부분에서 많은 부분을 할애하였기 때문에 비교적 간략한 서술을 하고 있었으며, 조동일은 문학과 역사를 함께 서술해나가면서 다양한 편폭으로 작가와 작품을 예로 들었다. 삼당 시인에 대한 내용에서는 작가 소개를 한 후, 작가의 작품을 예로 드는 방식은 공통적이었으나, 예시로 든 개별 작품들은 서로 차이를 보이고 있었다. 마지막으로 여성 한시는 조동일이 여성 한시라는 별도의 장으로 기술한 반면에, 이암은 한시를 주제별로 분류하면서 내용에 따라 알맞은 작품이나 작가를 예로 들고 있었음을 확인하였다. 대부분의 문학사는 자료를 수합하여 정리하고 분류하여 나열하는 방식을 취하고 있는 점이 아쉬움으로 남는다. 연구자의 시각이 돋보이는 서술이 필요하다고 할 수 있겠다. 이러한 측면에서 본다면, 제시한 작가 또는 작품이 일치하지 않는 것은 긍정적인 현상으로 읽어낼 수 있을 것이다. 현재의 문학사는 ‘통사’가 아닌 장르사나 특정 시대사를 쓰는 분위기인데, 이러한 상황 속에서 ‘통사’에 대한 관심이 다시 요구되는 바이다.
