I focused on the theme of church unity and independence in relation to the ecclesiology of Cyprian. The key theme of Cyprian's ecclesiology is the baptism and the sacrament of the church of the divided church, the apostolic succession of the bishop and its role. He wanted to bring about the unity of the church in one new system, which was a Bishopric centered Church unity. The unity of the Church of Cyprian was based on the independence of the local church, whose central city church developed into a model of the civil administrative unit had the authority to call the bishops of all the churches of its diocese to draw unified opinions. To this end, in 251 he held a religious conference in Carthage, intending to strengthen the bishop's authority and bring about the unity of the church. Cyprian's solution through the convening of a religious conference was to emphasize the authority of the bishop according to the apostolic succession and to claim the bishopric ecclesiology based on a new structure and orthodoxy that redefines the authority of the bishop. It later influenced Constantin’s idea of a regional bishops centered church. The unity of the Church in the independence of the local church of Cyprian, which does not acknowledge the behavioral superiority of the Roman Church, was controversial at the time of the confrontation with the Roman Church in relation to the anabaptism, but later on played an important role of uniting the Christian religion together. In addition, thanks to Cyprian, who had emphasized the bishop's centered church, the church became more stable and the Catholic dioceses became more developed in the center of the metropolis. As a result, the Emperors felt the necessity to utilize it. The emperors were able to operate the state in the position of emperors by operating the court of the provincial governor and the local church at the same time.

위에서 필자는 키프리아누스의 교회론과 관련하여 교회의 일치와 독립성이라 는 주제를 중심으로 살펴보았다. 키프리아누스의 교회론 정립의 핵심주제는 분 열해 나간 분파주의 교회의 세례와 성찬, 주교의 사도적 승계와 그 역할이다. 그는 하나의 새로운 시스템 속에서 교회의 일치를 가져오고자 했는데 그것은 주교중심의 교회일치였다. 키프리아누스의 교회의 일치는 시민행정단위를 모델 로 발달한 독립된 디오케시스의 중심도시 교회가 자신의 디오케시스의 모든 교 회의 주교들을 소집하여 통일된 의견을 도출할 수 있는 권한을 갖는 지역교회 의 독립권을 바탕으로 하는 것이었다. 이를 위해 251년 그는 카르타고에서 종 교회의를 개최하여 주교의 권한을 강화하면서 교회의 일치를 가져오려고 했다. 종교회의 소집을 통한 키프리아누스의 해법은 사도계승에 따른 주교의 권위를 강조하면서도 주교의 권한을 재정립하는 새로운 구조와 정통성에 토대를 둔 주 교중심 교회론을 주장한 것으로 훗날 콘스탄티누스가 정립하고자 했던 지역중 심-주교중심 교회론에 영향을 주었다. 로마교회의 행동적인 수위권을 인정하지 않는 키프리아누스의 지역교회의 독 립권 속에서의 교회의 일치 주장은 당시대에는 재세례와 관련한 로마교회와의 대립으로 논란을 가져왔지만 훗날 그리스도교계를 하나로 묶는 중요한 역할을 하게 된다. 또한 주교중심의 교회를 역설했던 키프리아누스 덕분에 교회는 더욱 안정을 찾고 대도시 중심으로 주교구가 더욱 발달하게 되었다. 이로써 황제들은 이를 활용할 필요성을 절실히 느끼게 되었던바 속주 총독 법정과 지역교회 법 정을 동시에 운용하게 됨으로써 황제 입장에서 국가운용을 쉽게 할 수 있게 되었다.
