The purpose of this study is to present the implications and directions of the convergent curriculum in university and to examine the opinions of students about the flexibility of academic system. To achieve that, this study investigated the current state of the convergent curriculum in universities, and selected one of them to conduct a survey on the operation of interdisciplinary major. The survey subjects were 253 students in the course and 263 students not in the course of interdisciplinary major at A university in Seoul, and the survey was conducted by telephone interview method. The results of the study are as follows. First, an administrative organization which is exclusively responsible for administrative services and educational services needs to be established to meet the demand expansion of the interdisciplinary major. Second, it is necessary to improve the environment in which the interdisciplinary major classes are provided. Third, career education and student counseling should be strengthened to increase the rate of students' degree acquisition. Fourth, increase the number of presentations using the lecture hours of participating professors and provide a homepage and a communication platform for those who have participated in the interdisciplinary major. Fifth, periodically investigate the interdisciplinary major and related subjects students want, and manage the total number of interdisciplinary major in university. Sixth, students' responses to the introduction of convergent curriculum proposed by the Ministry of Education were very positive. These results should be actively reflected in the reorganization of the academic system and policy development related to the convergent curriculum.

본 연구의 목적은 대학에서 융합교육과정을 운영할 때의 유의점 및 방향성을 제시하고, 학사 제도 유연화에 대한 학생들의 의견을 알아보는 것이다. 이를 달성하기 위하여 본 연구에서는 대 학별 융합교육과정 운영 실태를 자세히 살펴보고, 그들 중 한 개의 대학을 선정하여 연계전공 운 영에 관한 설문조사를 실시하였다. 설문 대상은 서울 소재 A 대학의 연계전공 이수자 253명과 미이수자 263명이며, 설문은 전화면접 방식으로 진행되었다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 연계전공의 수요 확대를 충족시키기 위하여 행정적 서비스 및 교육 서비스를 담당하는 전담 행정조직의 설립이 필요하다. 둘째, 연계전공 수업이 제공되는 환 경에 대한 개선이 필요하다. 셋째, 학생들의 연계전공 학위 취득 비율을 높이기 위하여 진로 교 육 및 학생 상담을 강화해야 한다. 넷째, 연계전공 참여 교수의 강의 시간을 활용한 설명회 개최 를 확대하고, 연계전공 이수자들을 위한 홈페이지 및 소통 플랫폼을 제공한다. 다섯째, 학생들 이 원하는 연계전공 및 관련 교과목을 주기적으로 조사하고 대학 내 전체 연계전공의 수를 효율 적으로 관리한다. 여섯째, 교육부가 제안한 융합전공제 도입에 대한 학생들의 응답은 매우 긍정 적이었다. 이러한 결과들은 융합교육과정과 관련된 학사제도 개편 및 정책 개발에 적극적으로 반 영되어야 할 것이다.
