This study is to analyze difficulties with life in South Korea among marriage migrant women and their acculturation process through participation in Korean dance. For this purpose, the investigator selected total 13 marriage migrant women. collected their data through in-depth interviews, observant observation, and documents, and applied the case study methodology for analysis. The marriage migrant women had difficulties with life in South Korea and cultural adaptation due to different cultures and customs, yearning for their hometowns, emotional solitude, and multiple roles forced upon them as mothers, daughter-in-laws, and wives. As they participated in Korean dance lessons, the marriage migrant women engaged in meaningful activities of feeling free from their multiple roles, looking back on their forgotten images as women, and establishing social exchanges with other migrant women. Participating in Korean dance lessons became a mechanism for marriage migrant women to understand and accept the South Korean culture easily and worked in the acculturation process of forming dual identity to accept their homeland culture and South Korean culture selectively and establishing self-confidence in life in the nation.

이 연구는 결혼이주여성들의 한국무용참여로 인한 문화변용 과정을 분석하였다. 2018년 3월~2018년 8월까지 총 13명의 결혼이주여성을 연구 참여자로 선정하여 심층면담, 참여관찰, 문서자료를 수집 후 사례연구방법을 적 용하여 분석하였다. 결혼이주여성은 한국생활 중 문화와 관습 차이, 고향의 그리움과 정서적 외로움 그리고 엄마, 며느리, 아내의 다중역할 부여로 한국생활과 문화적응에 어려움을 느꼈다. 한국무용 수업에 참여하는 동안 결혼 이주여성들은 자신이 부여받은 다중역할에서 벗어났다는 자유로움, 잊고 있던 여성으로 자신의 모습을 되돌아보 는 계기, 이주여성들과 사회적 교류를 형성하는 의미 있는 활동이 되었다. 한국무용 수업의 참여는 결혼 이주여성 들이 한국의 문화를 쉽게 이해하고 수용하는 기제가 되었으며 이로 인해 출신국 문화와 한국문화를 선택적으로 수용하는 이중정체감을 형성하여 한국생활에서의 자신감을 획득하는 문화변용으로 작용한 것을 확인하였다.
