This study is a theoretical study of Korean Wave phenomenon in Japan. In this study, cultural imperialism and cultural nationalism were discussed. Japan, which was discussed in the area of popular culture, has been recognized as an object of prohibition in connection with imperialistic images. However, the Japanese wave phenomenon produced a new national discourse. It is not the traditional nationalist resistance against Japan, but the nationalism that promotes the pride of its own nation. These results produced national discourses that heighten the self - esteem of Korea, not the discourse of nationality, which is exclusive to Japan. However, there is a contradiction in this result that after the formation of the modern nation - state, the role of ideological function called “nationalism” continues to be reproduced. Therefore, this study proposes to derive the theoretical framework from a more diverse perspective through the postcolonial perspective of the Korean Wave phenomenon in Japan.

본고는 일본에서 발생한 한류 현상에 대한 이론적 고찰을 시도한 것이다. 본고에서는 문화제국주의론과 문화내셔널리즘 을 중심으로 논의를 전개하였다. 기존의 대중문화영역에서 논의된 일본은 제국주의적인 이미지와 맞물려 금지의 대상으로 인식되어 왔다. 그러나 일본의 한류 현상은 새로운 내셔널적인 담론을 생산해 내었다. 그것은 기존의 일본에 대한 저항적인 내셔널리즘이 아닌, 자국에 대한 프라이드를 고취시키는 내셔널리즘의 표출되었다. 이러한 결과는 일본에 관한 담론이 배타성을 갖는 내셔널적인 담론이 아니라, 한국에 대한 자존감을 높이는 내셔널적인 담론을 생산해 내었다. 그렇지만, 이러한 결과는 근대국민국가 형성이후, 내셔널리즘이라고 하는 이데올로기 기능이 계속적으로 재생산되는 역할이 발생하 는 모순도 존재한다. 이에 본고는 일본의 한류 현상에 대한 탈식민지주의적인 관점을 통해 보다 다양한 시각에서의 이론적 틀을 도출해 낼 것을 제안한다.
