The so-called “Daerim-dong Alcohol Violence” case has sparked a controversy over “the female policeman hatred” centering on the online award, although police quickly overwhelmed drunken criminals in cooperation with citizens. In this study, we examined the progress of the controversy regarding the above incident and analyzed and evaluated the response of the police to present implications for the future police chief. In the early days of the response, the suspect showed an aggressive tendency to be intoxicated, ignoring the police and verbally abusing and assaulting them. Still, the request for additional career support was made after police were attacked, and it is very regrettable in that the female policeman alone responded to the suspect in this situation, prompting controversy over her “the female policeman hatred.” But it seems appropriate, despite much controversy, that the core of the case was concluded not as a response by the policewoman but as a disregard for the public power of the hostess. The police’s response can be assessed as having taken appropriate measures in the initial process of action, arrest, and follow- up. However, it is regrettable that the police failed to respond to the drunkard who showed abnormalities by one notch. In the future, the police need to update their response to drunken crime. First of all, it seems necessary to establish a system that can secure the upper hand of police forces from the stage of field action and strengthen training in response to the actual situation of police equipment such as handcuffs. It should also reconsider the alertness of drunken criminals through the strictness of punishment through the analysis of the causes of drunken crimes revealed in the wake of the incident. Finally, it is time to recognize the importance of security cooperation for community safety and make efforts to establish a clear concept of community policing activities and enact legislation for institutionalization.

일명 ‘대림동 주취폭력’ 사건은 경찰이 주취 범죄자를 시민과 협력하여 신속하게제압을 하였음에도 불구하고, 온라인 상을 중심으로 ‘여경혐오’ 논란이 크게 일었다. 이 사건은 대응 초기에 피의자가 경찰을 무시하고 욕설과 폭행을 하는 등 만취 상태로 공격적인 성향을 보였다. 그럼에도 추가 경력 지원 요청은 경찰이 공격을 당한이후에 이뤄졌고, 이 상황에서 여경이 혼자 피의자를 대응함으로써 ‘여경혐오’ 논란을부추겼다는 점에서 매우 안타깝다. 그러나 이 사건의 핵심이 여경의 대응 문제가 아닌 주취자들의 공권력 무시로 결론 내려진 것은 많은 논란 속에도 불구하고 적절해보인다. 경찰의 대응은 초기 출동과정, 체포과정, 사후 대응과정에서 모두 적절한 대처를한 것으로 평가할 수 있다. 단, 이상(異狀) 성향을 보인 주취자에 대해 한 단계 높은수준의 경찰 대응이 이뤄지지 못해 논란이 발생하게 된 것은 아쉬운 점이다. 본 연구에서는 위 사건과 관련한 논란의 진행경과를 살펴보고 경찰의 대응을 분석하여 평가함으로써 향후 경찰의 주취자에 대한 대응상 시사점을 제시하였다. 향후 경찰은 주취 범죄에 대한 대응 체계를 새롭게 할 필요성이 있다. 먼저 현장출동 단계에서부터 경찰력의 우위를 확보할 수 있는 시스템의 구축과 수갑 등 경찰장구의 실전 대응 교육 훈련의 강화가 필요해 보인다. 또한 이 사건을 계기로 드러난 주취 범죄에 대한 원인 분석을 통한 처벌의 엄격화를 통해 주취 범죄자들의 경각심 재고해야 한다. 마지막으로 공동체 안전을 위한 치안 협력의 중요성을 인식하고공동체 치안 활동의 명확한 개념 정립과 함께 제도적 구축을 위한 법제화 마련에 노력을 기울여야 하는 시점이라 할 것이다.
