The purpose of this study is to analyze the everyday conversation of two boys in the first grade of middle school and to identify how the teens' discursive identities are formed in daily conversation. The method used is discourse analysis, and the data was collected by recording. The analysis method is FPV (footing, positioning, voice) analysis, which is useful for inquiry into the identity formed in small stories in daily talk. The participants were Junwoo and Minhyeok, boys in “A” middle school in Gyeong-gi Province. The data was recorded after school, for 13 minutes in a lounge of “B” youth center on November 15, 2018. At the beginning of their conversation, the adolescents were framed ‘playfulness vs. mundaneness,’ through Junwoo’s story world and Minhyeok’s real world. As the conversation progressed, the two played a positioning game of deviation and compliance. At the end of the dialogue, they find their voice, ‘the decorum identity’ of Minhyeok and ‘the trickster identity’ of Junwoo called “My IQ is 37,829.” These discursive identities were not fixed at the beginning, but the two were constantly trying to position themselves in the process of conversation and mutual negotiation. This study is meaningful to determine the relationship between everyday talk with peers and the formation of the discursive identity of adolescents.

본 연구의 목적은 중학교 1학년 남학생 2인의 일상대화를 분석하여, 일상대화에서 청소년의 담화적 정체성이 어떻게 형성되는지를 규명하는 것이다. 연구방법은 담화분석이며, 자료수집방법은 대화 녹음이다. 분석방법은 일상대화 속 작은 이야기에서 형성되는 정체성 탐구에 유용한 FPV (footing, positioning, voice) 분석이다. 연구참여자는 경기도 A중학교의 남학생인 ‘준우’와 ‘민혁’이며, 해당 자료는 2018년 11월 15일 방과 후, 학교 근처 B 청소년센터 휴게실에서 13분간 녹음된 자료이다. 분석결과, 준우는 규범일탈의 트릭스터적 정체성을, 민혁은 규범준수의 데코룸적 정체성을 만들어가고 있었다. 이러한 담화적 정체성은 처음부터 고정된 것이 아니며, 대화의 과정에서 끊임없이 자기와 타인에 대한 자리매김을 시도하고 상호교섭함으로써 함께 형성해가는 것이다. 이 연구는 또래와의 일상대화가 청소년의 담화적 정체성 형성에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가를 FPV 중심으로 분석하여, 일상대화와 담화적 정체성 형성의 관계를 미시적으로 밝혔다는 데에 의의가 있다.
