This paper defines the world in sub-culture classic Japanese animation Psycho-pass as "data dystopia." The paper aims to examin the characteristics of body politics unfolding in this slanimation. Data dystopia means a world in which everything is processed into data and certain powers take over that data because of advances in technology. This is accompanied by technopoly, a science-based totalitarian culture, in which the role of technology and humans is reversed. Set in a futuristic society in 2112, Psycho-pass features the Sibila system that passes through human minds/spirits (psycho). Passive bodies that do not resist the system and those that give up the body and are left with only the brain become the control tower of the system to maintain it. On the other hand, exceptional bodies that prove the system's errors as an "exemption body" that the system cannot capture, those that cross the boundaries that the system observes, and self-regulatory bodies that create their own ethics of life regardless of the system's operation, delay the completion of the system. Those who resist the system show that in a world in which psychological power to measure and control the mind with data is at work, the point of resistance lies in the individual physicality of disappearing.

본고는 하위문화에 포함되는 일본 애니메이션 ｢사이코패스(Psycho-pass)｣를 중심으로 이 작품 속 세계를 ‘데이터 디스토피아’라고 규정하고, 이곳에서 펼쳐지는 신체 정치의 특성을 고찰하기 위한 것이다. ｢사이코패스｣에는 인간들의 정신/영혼(psycho)까지 계측(pass)하는 시빌라 시스템이 등장하는데, 순응적인 신체들과 몸을 포기하고 뇌만 남은 존재들은 이 시스템의 유지를 돕는다. 반면에 시스템의 오류를 증명하는 예외적 신체들과 시스템이 주시하는 경계적 신체들, 그리고 시스템의 작동과 무관하게 자신의 삶을 살아가는 자기규율적 신체는 시스템이 완성되는 것을 지연시킨다. 시스템에 저항하는 이들은 정신까지 데이터로 측정하여 통제하는 세상 속에서 저항의 지점은 오히려 사라져가는 신체성에 있음을 보여준다.
